    Craftsman 5197 AND 5198 registry

Hey Gang, as an aside, do you think the 3-1/2" model (05195) is more rare than a 4" (05196)?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hello fellow Iowan. That is a very cool find. I want to say that is the 3rd or 4th example I have seen online of that student vise project. From my understanding it would have been made as a student project in Iowa City, not Ames. The link below explains the name change better than I can...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hey Gang, I am looking at online pictures of a Massey 134 coming up at a sale in the future. I’m not familiar with Masseys and there is very little chatter about them online so maybe someone here can chime in. One thing that jumps out to me is how the spindle is barely visible on the backside...

Wilton Bullet Vise date stamping. show yours with or without EXP on slide

To save people from reading 33 pages, how about an eager Wiltonian create a flow diagram for us mortals? This would provide a date-of-manufacture standard by capturing all of the versions of the 4" models...Chicago, Schiller Park, HD, non-HD, fishhook, non-fishhook, dated key, non-dated key, 5...

Any info on old Lincoln air compressors

Thanks, metlmunchr. I just assumed it was an early venture of Lincoln Electric. I didn't know about Lincoln lubrication equipment.

Any info on old Lincoln air compressors

I'm blowing the dust off this old thread here... Soon I will be acquiring my grandfather's 80 gallon Lincoln with a Quincy 325 pump on it. Does anyone have any additional information about the Lincolns? What years they were sold, who sold them, or old catalogs? There is very little info out...

I would love to have that for multiple reasons. Size, intact pipe jaws and ACCO stuff is not common.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

That is kind of a blanket statement about the often romanticized acronym. :) It would really come down to the application. I'm sure that vise would work fine for some manual and CNC machining and grinding operations. I am kind of surprised by the amount of jaw mismatch but you get what you...

The Unofficial Vise Parts Swap Thread.

Hey Gang, I am looking for a swivel base for a Simplex Utility No. 400 or Simplex Utility No. 500 Desmond Stephan vise. I am pretty sure the 400 and the 500 take the same swivel base. I was told maybe a Lakeside might work as well?... Thanks for any leads!
