Couple of questions before pouring slab

Some very good suggestions here, use the template, set the bolt ahead of time. With temps into the triple digits forecast, I would suggest to not only wet down the base ahead of pour, but even better would be to put some 3 or 4 mil plastic down directly on the subgrade before putting in rerod or...

DIY Pole Barns, anybody work with them?

Posts are not as big a problem as you think, also pretty basic. All ya gotta do is get the corner posts set dead on (or as close to as possible). You get them set correctly and the others will follow no problem. What style of posts are you using laminate or solid?

Follow along as a teenager attempts to revamp a garage.

You will need a High Lift Kit. Should be able to special order anywhere they sell OH doors, though you maybe better off to try to find the same manufacturer as the track you have.

    A river runs through it.

What kinda footer do you have under them block, what I mean is how deep? Is just a simple base footing, or is it deeper? I am quessing in Ohio you will need atleast a 48" footer to avoid freeze/thaw heave. All is not lost yet.

How to cut 16 gauge type 304 Stainless Steel

I would flip it over and cut out the substrate first, then I would use the plasma or the cut off wheel. You will be cutting forever with a jig saw or a sawsall. You could then finish the edge up with a sanding disc or a flap wheel.

    full footer or floating slab?

Heated is excellent, you will want to put the sleeve in and fill around it, espspecially if you are going to be plumbing close to an outside wall. You will want to get below frost level and leave it open to the air inside the sleeve.

    Air Lines, Food for thought!

Yes, I was referring to the Gas rated CPVC. Yet in a private garage, in which pressures neer go over 125 psi, 250 psi rated (for plumbing) CPVC would work.

    Air Lines, Food for thought!

High pressure CPVC is a nice alternative and easy to work with.

    full footer or floating slab?

Question; will the garage be heated? That would be requirement almost or some heat tape of sorts. As far as a floating slab goes use a piece of DWV possibly 3" or so and sleeve your water pipe through the slab should give plenty of room for the slab to move.

    Vertical or Horizontal Drywall Installation?

Lots of different ideas here, personally and professionally, I would agree with PAToyota as far as using 12' sheets horz in a run less than 12'. I would also remphasize what bmwpower said about the value of hanging horz as far as structual strength. Allways stager the **** joints, and never cut...

Fireproof walls and ceiling and ventilation needed so I can MIG weld inside garage?

Re: Fireproof walls and ceiling and ventilation needed so I can MIG weld inside garage? Actually it takes 2 layers of 5/8" firecode X sheetrock to make a 1 hour firewall. Usually one layer on each side of the stud. 4 layers, 2 on each side of the wall would create a 2 hour firewall. I would...
