    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Has anyone else noticed a lot of electrical arcing/wear on your impact tool's battery connections? After using it for a day and unplugging the battery, I notice a lot of copper particles around the connectors, and upon closer examination today I saw that the connectors themselves were worn down...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

It's a 1/2 inch gen2 Fuel. To clarify it has no problems even with highly overtightened lugs as long as you don't have a bunch of extra attachments on it, however it 'struggles' in the sense that it needs to impact so much and it's loud as hell, and even if it's only a handful of seconds of...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Regarding the M12 vs M18 compact for car work, I would say get the M18 compact, I use one daily and it's just about adequate; while I don't own an M12 I really wouldn't want anything less than the M18. -Power on the M18 drops off precipitously with extensions/attachments, there have been times...

I fired my Snap On CT8850 Monster Lithium 1/2" impact.

I suspect comparing cordless and air impacts is often an apples to oranges comparison due to the differences in how they work, air guns are usually slow but harder-hitting while electrics typically use a larger number of less powerful impacts. The fact that torque sticks don't work on most...

    Pass through socket set

I use a mix of Bostitch and old Kobalt hex drive pass throughs as my main ratchet and socket set. The pass throughs are lower profile, stronger, and obviously pass through, and with the hex drive the sockets can be turned with a regular wrench as well (you can even think of the hex drive sockets...

    Tool Teardowns

Milwaukee's page for it shows some online vendors that have it available: https://www.milwaukeetool.com/accessories/miscellaneous/49-08-4220 I'm not sure whether the vendors actually have it in stock, or if they special order from Milwaukee and then ship it to you. That happened to me and it...

    Tool Teardowns

I decided to open up the hammer case on my Mighty Seven NC-4630Q 1/2 in. stubby air impact, partly due to concern about the amount of grease leaking out from around the anvil, and partly because I've had several people tell me these stubbies are for specialized use only and they will die a quick...

Mac ar249 1/4" air ratchet has no torque

By head do you mean the anvil? If so that should be a pretty simple repair and cheap part, assuming it's still available. EDIT: Nevermind, I misread that as air wrench!

    Matco Torque Sticks

I was on the fence about overtorqued lug bolts causing brake pulsations until recently when I had a safety inspection done and they removed one of the front wheels. Que shaking steering wheel under high speed braking. Needless to say they had impacted the bolts on without any sort of torque...

    Matco Torque Sticks

Torque sticks are accurate as long as your gun's specs and running pressures meet the torque stick's. This can be tricky since not all torque stick manufacturers list all the specs. In your particular case, most likely the reason it overtorqued is because you used a gun with high impacts per...

Milwaukee Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Fuel

Gen 1 has three setting buttons while the Gen 2 has four. The Gen 1 also has its hammercase retaining screw at the top of the tool while the Gen 2 has it lower. This site has comparison pics: http://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-m18-fuel-impact-driver-compact-wrenches-gen2/

    Tool Teardowns

I'm sure a lot of us like taking things apart and poking around inside to see how they work/how they were designed/see what kind of wear and tear they've been subject to. AvE's YouTube channel is great for this kind of thing, though there are sadly only a handful of teardowns. Recently I took...

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

I'm about to grab the 1822 but had a question, how well does it work with torque sticks? I know that some non-traditional designs of impacts will zip right past a torque stick's rated torque (I think it has to do with higher BPM not allowing the stick to spring back fully).
