    Sterling hanging heater question

the circulating fan won't come on, but the powered exhaust fan will. As mentioned above, it will try to ignite, then sense that there is no gas and will fail, triggering a fault code that will be displayed via the LED on the main board. You can do this to test it if you want, it won't hurt anything.

Butcher block top refinish for garage

Im not sure Im using mine the same way as you are. But I just sealed mine with standard polyurethane. But then I have a large plastic 'sheet' that is almost as big as the bench top that protects it. Its a 'cutting' board of some sort, I think for cutting fabric for sewing. I found it in the...

Adding cinder block perimeter to existing pad?

I have a company doing essentially what you are asking right now due to the same drainage problem. In fact the garage is currently floating above the cinderblock wall they have built. Then they will do compacted fill and pour a new slab right over the top of the old one. So I would say yes...

    "Irene's Place" my 2.5 car remodel/repair project

Well, the first course of block is almost done, and in talking with the guys the topic of radiant heat came up. Obviously, it would be great to have, but given the last minute opportunity to lay PEX, but possibly not foam board insulation, would it be worth it to bother?

    Updating old Fluorescent lights? (T12?)

Yeah, Thats pretty much what I keep thinking. Its just such a shame to toss the fixtures. I guess I need to do a cost analysis. I have been looking around and there seems to be a few kits to run 4X 4' T8 bulbs in these old 8' fixtures, but Im not sure if it actually balances out cost-wise.

Then mine must be standard. They have one round 'nub' pin on each end.

    Updating old Fluorescent lights? (T12?)

I don't know for sure that T12 is even the correct style... But I would imagine they are not HO. How can one tell? On the ballast? the bulbs?

    Updating old Fluorescent lights? (T12?)

Hey all. Im going though a big garage remodel and I have a question about updating some old light fixtures I have. Sorry if this has been covered already, I couldn't find anything by searching due to the 3 letter search limitations. I have maybe 8 8' dual bulb fluorescent fixtures that I...

I concur. Gutters will be installed during this project. :) As far as a french drain goes, I wish I could put one in, the problem is that my yard is a low spot, so I have nowhere to 'drain' it to. I have been using a sump pump when it gets really bad.

They use 'cribbing' which is stacked 6x6's and they use some sort of hydraulic rams to raise it a bit, then slide more 6x6's in. I'll try to get more interior pics but they took the hydraulic system with them when they wrapped up for the day. Maybe I can get some pics of that process when...

    "Irene's Place" my 2.5 car remodel/repair project

The POD delivery guy wasn't very flexible, and pretty much refused to hear anything about solutions for putting it on the lawn. So I had no choice due to scheduling, except to have him drop it in the driveway and haul it away after I loaded it. It felt a bit like extortion to be quite honest...

    "Irene's Place" my 2.5 car remodel/repair project

Just a little word of warning about renting a POD. The delivery driver refused to place the POD in my yard as I requested. He claimed that due to the wet weather, they won't place a POD on the dirt/grass in fear of it sinking and getting stuck. So I had no choice but to have them store the...
