connecting walls to metal ceiling, trim recommendations?

My walls and ceiling are white steel panels, and we used what they called a "double J" trim. The trim piece was screwed into place, then the panels slid into the channel. The reason for double was to place both the ceiling and walls. I don't know if you could use a single J channel screwed in...

    My Bendpak Experience (so far)

Understood, and thanks for the explanation! It's sometimes very difficult to get the tone of a post simply in text. I think I had a legitimate reason to contact them, but I get what you are saying about freebies. Anytime something is "free" the vultures will be circling!

    My Bendpak Experience (so far)

Just to clarify, I was simply saying Thank You to Bendpak for a great experience. It is a rare treat to get such good response these days. In contacting them, I wasn't fishing for "free ****" as you put it. Perhaps some operate that way, but there was never any intention of "bashing them in a...

    My Bendpak Experience (so far)

I wanted to put out a public Thank You and endorsement for Bendpak's customer support! Here's the story: I recently purchased an xpr10A, which was purchased through Garage Equipment Supply, as that was the dealer contact they provided me. The deal with GES was quite simple, and all questions...

radiant heat, what about the edges?

Here you can see all stages of my floor, as I was able to complete some of the work towards the back while waiting on concrete guy to come dig the trench drain. Along the far wall you can see the upright foam board, from the top of the batter board to 2' deep (split full 4x8 sheets), between...

Help needed Quick!! 2 post lift and Radiant floor insulation

Here you can kind of see what I did. 2" foam board to the top of the batter board. (not sure if skirt or batter is correct, maybe both are. I'm using batter, as that's what the builders called them!) The top of the foam board you see standing up at the batter board is half of a 4x8 sheet cut...

    radiant heat and lift install

I read that thread and noted that post prior to my pour. I asked my concrete guy about that, and he was more concerned with the anchors possibly going through the bottom than being around 2" thicker over a 4' square beneath the posts. I'll also say that he is a large contractor, and has been...

    radiant heat and lift install

Badger, can you please explain what you mean? I'm already poured, but I'm curious what you mean, and I'm always wanting to learn! If you are insulating under the floor, why wouldn't you insulate under all parts of the floor? As for the cad drawing, the layout I had is a cad drawing, done by a...

    radiant heat and lift install

I went with 4 foot squares, per the recommendation by my concrete guy. Also made it easy to just cut a sheet of insulation in half. Floor is 5" thick, with these 2 spots ~ 7 1/2" thick. Wire mesh over the top of everything.

    radiant heat and lift install

I planned out where I wanted the lift to go, dug out squares an additional 2" deep, then did the vapor barrier and insuation, taped seams and installed the tube. I chose to avoid the cutouts completely when placing the tube. To reference where the open spots for the posts are, I pulled string...

    Trench Drain ideas?

I'm currently building a post frame building for a shop, building and doors are to be completed in the next few days, if it stops raining!! This is a 39x54x14, with 3 overhead doors covering most of one eave side. I was talking with the concrete guy about doing a trench drain across the doors...

Pull 2nd mortgage for steel building???

Interesting timing, as I am in the middle of doing just this. We built our house on 2.5 acres in 2003. We built the house we wanted, did the pool and everything we wanted, on a 30 year note. We didn't do a shop, even though I really wanted to do one for the entire 23 years we've been married...

HF $239 horizontal/vertical metal band saw

Hey all, first post here, long time lurker. Reason for my first post is I just bought the HF saw, as I have some fab. work to do for the local HS football team. They are big into the strongman competition type of training, so I'm making them some weighted clubs and sledgehammers, among other...
