I like the qr series of Quincy for sure, and I think that’s where the cult following is. If I wanted new for warranty and service, I would buy whichever one seems like provides better service. Also, if the qr series isn’t an option (and I am guessing new they are considerably more), champion...
I have both. Hypertherm plasma cutter gets pulled out 90-95% of the time if I am cutting metal, but if I was only going to have one, it would be the o/a torch. You can do too much as others have said that a plasma cutter just can't do with a o/a setup.
I consider crusher run as 3/4 minus, but they sell it different ways. 8910 is like either 3/8 or 1/4 minus i think. I have a place that sells concrete, and they screen out the 3/4” material and sell it separately from the dust (8910). Anything that has the dust(8910’s)that is going to be a...
I don’t know if you are referring to my infrastructure comment or not, but I agree 100% with what you are saying about not needing a larger air line. My point was that if I was going to have a pump pumping out that cfm, why wouldn’t I plumb it to use that cfm. Obviously you can run it however...
Don’t mistake my post as discouraging! Not at all! I love the compressor and I love that you are doing this. My point above is, you may never use the capabilities of the compressor to justify the cost of the infrastructure required to run it. If you are just running hand tools and maybe...
First off, congratulations, and if you got that for free, you ****. I love Quincys, and have had my eyes open for a 340 or 350. That being said, while you are letting stuff soak, you need to be honest with yourself and your air needs. 10 hp is a LOT of amps, and it’s not cheap for all the...
I Iike the old USA iron better than new Chinese, but I like Quincy the best. I bought 3 different pumps a couple of years ago within a month period for less than 300 dollars. I was not looking, they just fell in my lap so to speak. They were all model 240’s too. I replaced my 310 with the...
I personally would use a mini x because I own one and operate it probably 12-20 days out of the month, but I suggest looking into a Sds max hammer drill and a spade bit. I had some stone bed edging that I had a client want me to install, and it would have made a mess trying to get a machine to...
Depends on what you are using it for, and how nice you want it to be, but you probably could look around for a mom and pop machine shop to bend it for you. Have it all ready to go. Stop by in person. Most would probably tell you no over the phone. Where are you located? Someone here might...
Not saying it can’t be done with a traditional door, but it’s going to be tight. If you are serious about it, and money is available, I might would look into a door that opens and closes horizontally. I used some hinges made by a company called super sneaky. They work good. I put an 8’ door...
My garage started as an approximately 22x30, and years later the back wall was knocked out and an approximately 30x54 added. Where they knocked the back wall out, they filled the bottom course of block with concrete. When I got it, I chipped out the block and put a paver in it so that I could...
I put in a Goodman variable speed 16 seer heat pump with my brother a couple of years ago. I live in Alabama. I put a gas furnace (a significant upgrade over electric) as my “backup”. It is amazingly quiet and way more efficient than what I have had before. I have two systems, and this one...
thanks, I got the mig wire and sanding discs. I think those are the same roll pin punches I bought a couple of years ago (from this thread), and I use them more than I expected. They are handy when you need them
