    EV Charger and Generac

I believe so. I am not all too technical on this but I've provided link below. I choose to lock out mine as I don't want to charge my EV using generator, even if it can handle it. https://www.zillerelectric.com/products/generac-6873-smart-management-module-smm...

    EV Charger and Generac

Quick follow up. I ended up spending extra to do this right. 1) Subpanel to allow 60amp circuit and a couple other circuits for the future 2) Generac load shed module - to completely lockout 60amp EV during power outage with Generac running. Thanks for everyone's help.

    liftmaster 98022 and 841LM lock

Thank you all! My door is about 300lbs so it's pretty heavy. My previous opener (also Liftmaster) didn't have this mechanism.

    liftmaster 98022 and 841LM lock

Hello, Recently installed Liftmaster 98022 side opener which came with 841LM deadbolt style locking mechanism. While I like the security part, the noise is pretty loud and concerned with eventually failing when I need to open the door. My understanding is you can just unplug this from the...

Damn AI sounds convincing when a dummy like me reads it :D

    EV Charger and Generac

Again, I can't thank everyone enough for your help. Just had another quick follow up as to where to place my 60amp EV circuit breaker. I was originally planning to put the EV circuit on subpanel but saw this on ChatGPT: Some installers place the load-shed module after the subpanel, like...

    EV Charger and Generac

Ok, slight revision based on feedback about potential SMM failures :D I would really prefer to keep my set up simple and not add more points of failure. So, how about Subpanel with 240 60amp for EV and 240 20amp. However, just charge at 30amps - I believe I can do this even though I have...

    EV Charger and Generac

I've heard about the failures on the older models. What does fail open mean - I think they reversed this on the new one or something like that. So, when the board fails, you can still use the EV charger?

    EV Charger and Generac

I am not quite following installing a meter main but running the charger at 30amp is interesting. I guess I can always crank it up to 60amp when I need a quicker charge once in awhile but I would be OK with 40amp - 32amp continuous charging. I do wonder if my 16kw generac can handle this extra...

    EV Charger and Generac

I am going to get a couple more electricians out soon but I think this is what I am leaning towards to avoid tandem and over loading generator: 1. Subpanel - 100amp (for both 240V 60amp EV and 220V 20amp Lift) 2. Install Generac 7006 100amp load shed (for the entire subpanel with both EV and...

What to put between concrete and Leg on 4-post lift?

Wow - that's a good point. I am not planning to bolt mine down so shifting with 1/2" rubber doesn't sound good to me. I may be better off just using POR and waxing it regularly?

What to put between concrete and Leg on 4-post lift?

Thank you - I was hoping for 1/2" but this might work as well.

What to put between concrete and Leg on 4-post lift?

Bump - will confirm with the installer but do these rubber pads help with potential rusting in snow belt areas? I have salt etc in the garage and wasn't sure if having 1/2" footing would help. Any other brands I can look into - found something at TSC but pain to cut...

    EV Charger and Generac

Thank you everyone. To summarize, I need 4 open slots in my current panel to allow 2 x 240V double pole (one rated at 60amp EV charger and the other at 20amp 4 post lift). Given the restrictions on my current 40 circuit, I am thinking about removing the surge protector for one double pole...

    EV Charger and Generac

So... I got bored and called Eaton. Mentioned the part number and they said while local codes wouldn't allow it since load center isn't designed to have more than 40 circuits, it would be OK to use non CTL (BR1515 for example) tandems in this load center.
