Has anyone noticed a drastic decline in Wiha quality?

Wiha’s quality and (especially) quality assurance dropped off years ago. COO has nothing to do with it. There was a time I could live on nothing but Wiha for bits, screwdrivers and hex keys. That time passed ages ago it feels like. I absolutely couldn’t trust I’d buy a set and not get one or...

    Hammer time!

The owners at the store near me dropped the other sledge hammers (US brands...forged in..somewhere on earth...) once the Wilton proved to outsell the others, 100 to 0. ;) I'm glad I only use girlie mitten sized hammers these days, I couldn't afford a sledgehammer that didn't outright ****. :D...

    Chadstoolbox stopped selling Wiha?

Sorry for zombi thread bumping, but only two months right? Chads stopped carrying Wiha after years of publicly complaining about carrying Wiha. Micro-tools has been one of the tried and true vendors for electronics and camera folks. Super reliable. I've placed a lot of one-off orders over...

    Tools from the old world

They're well recognized in the states as "craftsman" pry bars Wilde was making them for a (not sure how long) number of years, a fact that became more known on this forum (and no where else) thanks to attention brought to Harry J. Epstein's (retailer/distributor). The Wilde branded pry bars...

Who makes the best locking pliers in the world today?

Sorry for resurrecting a zombi, but, where's the love for the facom t5? They also have a whole range of other unique locking grip goodies. Just watch out for some of the one's made in StanleyVille that are slipping into the product line. Can't miss: They're absolutely wretched looking.

Looking for a good set of beam levels

Menards "master force" levels are rebadged stabila in grey: sold for half of what you'd pay for the same model in yellow with "stabila" stamped on it. Coincidentally, about the highest I'm willing to pay for their make. I like everything about them....but the spirit vial. I'm waxing the...
