Craftsman Gray & Red Toolboxes (long post)

Re: Great start to my weekend - Craftsman Gray & Red Toolboxes (long post) No problem! Glad to be of help! I think it took me about 1 roll plus a couple feet to do my 9 drawer roller cabinet. Probably take me the rest of the roll to do the top 10 drawer top box but I got 3 rolls just in...

Craftsman Gray & Red Toolboxes (long post)

Re: Great start to my weekend - Craftsman Gray & Red Toolboxes (long post) Home Depot does have the best liners. I use the husky 18"x100" black. They work great, have had a great experience with them so far, and only paid $10 for the roll! Congrats on a great find!!! Sent from my iPhone...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Got me a '67 9 drawer roller bearing cabinet, topped by a '72 6 drawer, and a year unknown 10 drawer: Currently thinking about getting this Snap-On chest if it goes down in price, to hold my 10 drawer. They're asking $200. I checked it out, looks good, slides are all smooth and some even...

Yeah, on this new box I have the drawers all have a 45° cut like you said, as well as on my '67 roller cabinet. My '72 6 drawer box has straight 90° cuts. Pretty interesting. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that this box is likely a '67 or earlier box. I've tried to find the date...

I'm not sure. This one seems uncommon, especially with that middle drawer center pull. My boss has his original one from the early 70s. Same style, but it has a pull near the top. That's why I'm trying like hell to find the year!

That's exactly where I found this one, Facebook marketplace! Good stuff, and Maxcarp709, this was my #1 box to get as well! Ended up giving $70, which was more than I wanted to pay, because he found the original tray that was with the box. It was sitting in the corner of his garage with some...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Thanks all, yeah I'll probably offer 70 or so for it. If it's in good shape. I don't know that I want another project! I just know I need something bigger than what I have. Definitely appreciate all the help, if anyone has anything else to add, feel free to chime in, but ill be sure to post...

I have only seen a few of these for sale, I do have a 6 drawer top chest but have always wanted one of these 10 drawer ones, after discovering that I need more than 6 drawers... I'll probably offer up $75 for it. Got into a bit of a bidding war of sorts and the seller will hold it until I can...

Oh awesome, yeah I think I may have seen another one on here that had the combo lock. Taumac is probably right as far as it being an option. I'm located in Michigan, near Ann Arbor, and so is the box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got the opportunity to purchase this little beauty. Need some advice, I've never seen this combination lock or the hinge-stays for the top. Any advice on price? They're asking 100 for it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys! YV Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here it is! All finished! (Minus the emblem and slide retainers) Also, quick tip: if your drawer pull beauty strips get sand blasted, or you need to repaint them, this stuff is as close a match to the original that I could find, metallic silver:

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll keep looking. Hopefully I'll find another couple retainer clips because one drawer only had one for each slide! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
