    Another Drywall Related Thread..

Yeah, agreed. I just drywalled my garage. If there was a valid, cheap alternative, I would have used that instead. There are certainly cheap alternatives, but they won't be fire resistant.

has anyone used "PODS" or similar storage containers

We just used PODS last time when we moved into our new house. Worked out great. It's the best solution if you aren't moving directly into your new place since they will store your stuff in their facility for no extra charge. You also have the full month (or months, depending on how long you rent...

What do I do? Header/garage door frame rot due to improper/no flashing

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I "could" replace the header myself if I had help. I think I'm going to do what you said though and just replace all the framing around it for now and keep an eye on it. This is hopefully the house we stay in forever though so I want to make sure everything is...

What do I do? Header/garage door frame rot due to improper/no flashing

Just wish I could have owned the house sooner and caught it before it got this bad. Did you have to actually replace the header? If so, how...

What do I do? Header/garage door frame rot due to improper/no flashing

Just purchased my new house a couple months ago. I've been working on getting the garage in order ever since. The other day I bought some new weatherstripping to go around the garage door as the old ones had ripped a bit and just looked old. Went to pull down the top part that was already...

Best way to add lighting to garage?

Ah, for some reason I didn't even think of running conduit on the ceiling. That's probably the easiest way in the current situation, if I don't decide to add attic access. Good call.

Best way to add lighting to garage?

Yes, there's an attic above it that there currently doesn't seem to be any access to. Based on what I've read, that's due to fire code. I've also read mixed opinions on the weight that most attics were designed to hold. Being able to use the attic for storage as well as make it easier to wire...

Best way to add lighting to garage?

Long time lurker, first time poster here.. I just moved into a new house with a decent size 2.5 car garage. It's only half dry walled, ceiling is done and the interior wall facing side is done. There's currently only 1 ceiling light in the garage, right above the garage door opener. I would...
