Rude Email response from Jean-Claude Cayer tools

If they don't want you to email them with questions, that feature should be removed. A customer is free to choose from multiple means of getting information. Scolding or correcting a customer for not using automated systems is inappropriate.

Is your Garage (and you) protected?

I'm going to offer slightly different advice here and suggest you read your policy. The policy is a legal agreement between you and the insurance company. My insurance agent sells policies for a number of companies. She is personable and is great at finding the coverage I want at a reasonable...

Need some quick advice on buying a jack...20 minutes away from jack xchange

Will the 3 ton lift higher than the 2? Seems like 2 ton is plenty strong to raise half or less the weight of a suburban. Seems it would be an issue of clearance and lift height.

Notching truss for 2 post lift

Anyone who has lived in an old house has probably noticed how much bounce there is to the floors. Floor joists used to be commonly done using 2x8 lumber. I once lived in a house with 2x6 floor joists and things on the table would rattle every time I walked across the room. I sistered the...

    Moving Sale Find

If you called it vintage instead of old the price would have been higher. Nice choice of words. And, you ****.

    Painting vintage tools

I'm OK with a good and careful cleaning. However, I think painting ruins an old tool. If I wanted it to look new I would buy new.

I need a diagram of a 76 piece tap and die set

I can see where having a diagram would help you find the tool you're looking for. If you can't locate a diagram, maybe make your own and keep it in the box. You can draw hexagons using Word or Powerpoint. Just make sure to hold the shift key when inserting the auto shape or resizing as this keep...

worst day you've had in the shop

Re: worse day you've had in the shop Mine is nowhere near as bad as some of the others but here goes. I was changing the oil on my motorcycle, Kawasaki ZRX. To save a dollar, I flipped over the metal drain plug washer. The added torque needed to flatten out the washer was enough to strip the...

Have a few questions before I finalize my purchase of pole barn.

I would limit use of styrofoam because it burns quickly and the fumes can be deadly in case of fire. Burn a chunk the size of your fist in an outdoor location and then decide for yourself.

Anyone on here WITHOUT a garage?

    I have a 10 x 20 shed and a 12 x 27 carport but no garage. Yet.

raise inside height of garage joists(?)

if they are just for tying in the walls they could possibly be replaced with wire rope and turnbuckle.

I want to give this guy a call

That looks just like the tool I bought at HF for $13. Mine don't torque so well but it's ok at taking tile off the floor.

    Avoiding 4-way intersection..

That will do it. Or cut it in thirds or whatever meets up with a wall stud.

Did I screw up the framing for my shed already?? Pics

Nails are made of soft bendable steel and I would first try just bumping them in a little using a hammer. I've done that more than once and a little adjustment usually does the job.
