Stewbob...I finally punted and replaced with Generac 20k. I had 2 separate electricians evaluate it with no luck. Very frustrating as it was a nice unit. My father in law took it from me, worked on it for 3 additional months, then gave up too.
So I've had my Yost 750-DI for about 2 years now. Haven't had any issues with it. I'm extremely happy with it. The only maintenance I've done it adding a light coating of oil to the exposed metal. The fact that it swivels in 2 directions really helps out. I also find myself using the lower...
Thanks for everyone's input. I found an outstanding step-by-step HOW-TO for advanced troubleshooting of a similar model B&S Generator . I'm giving it a try this weekend. I'll follow up if I get anywhere with it..
Here is the article if interested...
The breaker is in the ON position. I've tried starting with the breaker on and off. I've flipped the breaker several times. I have a transfer switch for this unit. It has no load on initial startup. I know the transfer switch is in the correct position as my home is running of commercial power...
Charles...Thanks for the tip. I already swapped out the oil pressure safety switch. I also tried disconnecting the wire to keep it running. Unfortunately, neither helped the generator keep running longer than 10 seconds.
Thanks for the reply. I read that article already. The fuel supply is good. The engine actually turns on and runs for 10 seconds, then shuts itself off. It's not just cranking over, but actually running. There is a fail-safe in the system that is turning the engine off.
I have a B&S Standby generator and I am asking for some assistance. The model number is 040273-0; 12kW. It runs off natural gas.
The engine turns on, runs for 8-10 seconds, and then shuts off. It does this cycle 5 times and then displays FC4 on the control panel. FC4 means "Failed to...
Thanks for everyone's comments and expertise. I posted some close up pics if you would like to see the vise from all angles.

I received the 750-DI. I haven't put it through a torture test so I can only report back on my initial impression. It is a smooth operating vise. I can open and close the jaws with 1 finger. It is smooth when opening and closing. There is no grittiness where a metal bur might exist. It did...
Thank you for the outstanding information! I'm not really looking to restore an antique. I checked out prices for a Swinden. New was 1500 dollars so unless I hit the powerball, that's out of the question.
I like the flexibility of a rotating jaw. I'm going to try out the Yost even though...
I'm considering purchasing the Yost 750-DI. The 750-DI is upgraded version from 750. The DI means it made out of Ductile Iron. I like the fact it's made out of Ductile Iron. However, I verified with the Yost company that the vise is made in China. I'm not too thrilled about that. Does...
