Ok so here it is. My restored Reed 104 1/2 R vise. This vise was left in the garage when I bought the house. The dynamic and static jaws were ceased up. I found this forum trying to figure out how to get this thing moving again. I used a ton of break free and kept working the jaw back n forth...
Ok I used some redneck ingenuity and turned my floor jack sideways between the vise jaws and pumped it right apart. Beginners tip for anyone with a seized vise. I’m so siked to start restoring this beast.
Hello, I’m new to this forum but in my vain attempt to start fixing/restoring an old Reed vise left to me by the previous home owner I have run into a bit of a problem. I want to break the vise down to clean, grease and repaint. Thanks to this forum I realized I didn’t break the two piece ring...
