    Leaking shower pan

So I have a fully tiled shower I installed recently. I have a full tiled pan that I used the kerdi membrane system on. I plugged the drain and did a 24hr leak test and that was all good. But I noticed this morning that I have a pretty good leak now at one corner. It's soaking the underlayment...

Why would be neutral be tied to a hot?

Why would be neutral be tied to a hot?

The outlet under my sink that the disposal plugs into went dead yesterday. I pulled the outlet out and found that there's three pieces of romex coming into the box. On two of the wires the neutrals are tied to the outlet. The third neutral is wire nutted with two of the hots and the third hot is...

A lifetime supply of 400 grit sandpaper...

That's an "unconverted" roll of abrasive paper. The company I work for builds hydraulic die cutters, rotary die cutters and lasers that abrasive manufactures use to cut their sandpaper into the shapes you buy in the store. We have a dozen more more rolls like that laying around that we use for...

DIY polyurethane injection for basement wall

I had read that the polyurethane is good if you think there could be any movement and that epoxy shouldn't be used if there could be. We have expansive clay here in Kansas City so most houses here do move some throughout the year.

DIY polyurethane injection for basement wall

Also, highly doubt this as I could see where the old grade was on the foundation and we filled back to this point.

DIY polyurethane injection for basement wall

Yep, solid pour I seriously doubt it. They brought it in a half yard at a time with a concrete buggy. Nothing heavy on or near the foundation. I can't tell really. It's a fairly small crack less than or equal to 1/16" i'm guessing. There's no signs anywhere else in the house of any...

DIY polyurethane injection for basement wall

Preface for those who like to offer their opinion without reading the whole post: I have already regraded around the house and extended down spouts well away from the foundation. When we bought our house the back yard was aggressively sloped towards the foundation. So much so that during a...
