    Just go with the PI, you can get it direct from them off their website. I have a fair number of their Torque wrenches and they pass calibration every year without fail.

    True they don’t stamp both sides of the wrench, I’ve worked at a Cat dealer now for 34 years and I can tell you straight up that the wrenches are not proper snap on , this will cause a few waves but it’s true. They are a blue point wrench as you can see by the chrome finish, some of the wrenches...

    I’ve got a few sockets which have both sizes on, as mentioned before, all in the larger sizes.

    Deep offset wrench sets?

    We use the Stahlwille deep offsets for Valve adjustments on Cat engines, 9/16 for the small engines , 3/4, 22mm and 24mm for the adjuster lock nuts on the larger engines, they keep your knuckles well clear of the valve gear which will skin you if you try use standard wrenches.

    Hey Pinebeetle where is the Proto ratchet made? Italy? I have a Facom branded 1/2 which has been a real work horse and I have been looking for a 3/8 one now For some time.

    Total agree MrB, I have Stahlwille wrenches from the 70’s which look mint still, all with the stamped size. Newer ones with the forged size tend to look rather tatty after a couple of years.

    Cat in the 80’s sold a premium line and a value line wrench ,Proto being the value line and Snap-on being the premium. I have all these wrenches and believe the so called Snap-on wrenches were actually Blue point as they are all only stamped on one side of the wrench where a Snap-on is stamped...

    Older Snap On torque wrench head locked up

    Have a look inside it may just be something small, I work for a Cat Dealer and they usually source them part number 5P7444 is a 20 tooth and 5P7445 is a 30 tooth repair kit no dramas.
