Horrific new slab pour, PROPER corrective action advise needed!

Thanks for asking! The shop has been slowly moving forward regardless of the previous nightmares. I'm sure many of you know there is a new obstacle to overcome around every corner with a build like this and at this point I think I could write a bathroom book about it. That being said I've...

You bet! I'll try and be a little more vigilant on my posts of progress. Hoping for more positive posts in the future as I turn this franchise around.

Ya it has been quite the time, money and effort black hole. I figured there was really no other options other than grind through. After I crack my first beer in this monstrosity I am certain the feeling will be it was all worth the effort. I appreciate the support from you guys!

Hello everyone, progress has been steady. Sorry for the delay. I'm not really sure where I left off but I'll do my best at an update. I cut the 2 footings off the slab with a saw and broke it all up with an excavator to a 33x36 rectangle with 4 90 degree corners which was an improvement. I...

I'm not sure what on earth is going on here but to clarify I paid the contractor to do ALL the work. The only thing I have done on the slab started last Saturday which included laying down the rest of the rebar, cleaning the surface and placing new forms on top of his old forms that where...

thank you. My materials I have and sanity probably will not make it through another shopless northern minnesota winter. I'm just planning on going full steam ahead until I am bankrupt or I have a shop. Hope the legal system can help me on the back end but until then I am on my own and very...

I am holding my cards close for now. I will wait for the process to be over or when I am in the clear to do so. Thank you.

Yes I will be making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. The contractor did all previous work on the slab.

The path has just gotten rougher. I thought I had hit rock bottom but I guess it is never wise to think it couldn't get worse. They ground the slab and I spent my weekend cleaning the hell out of it, laying rebar and erecting forms and cutting new foam. At the final end I was wondering why on...

Unfortunately no news is bad news. I cant believe the nightmare got worse but it is now much worse. I apologize for not updating this thread but it is been difficult juggling operating a business and dealing with this looser contractor at the same time. After many blown deadlines and poor follow...

Seems like they make a deep fill as well. This does concern me that if there are deep holes that the epoxy will dimple or act odd when it cures and leave a texture to bring back bad memories every time I notice it. I'm assuming there is a way to layer something into the low spots to cure then...

That looks fantastic! Does the porcelain hold up as well as epoxy flooring? Grout able to stain easily? I wonder if I can find a dealer in the states for that product?

I'm leaving it up to the engineers to decide but I believe the first test will just be a schmidt hammer test and if it passes with flying colors then they will not need to core. If they have questions about it still then they will take core samples from my understanding. I believe they will test...

Just figured I'd give an update and a shout out to you all on whats going on. The grinding crew couldn't show up because of "covid" so add that to the list of roadblocks. I have them here today and they are making a bunch of noise and a mess but my slab is slowly thinning. I have a testing lab...

I didn't realize I had such loyal followers! We all met and the contractor tried to smooth things over while the engineer chiseled away at my dried out play-doh slab surface. The engineer said grind 2 inches off the top and then if it passes a compressive strength test we can lay a 5 inch...
