    Uncle Tater's Garage

I think it's cool how a building can bring so much joy. It's a place where you can work and be happy. Very nice setup.

Thanks guys, and it can get hot here. :D Just to clarify I would like to find a used one from a body shop that doesn't necessarily have to be a HF brand.

    English Wheel reccomendations

I am thinking about getting an english wheel. Over the past 2 years or so I have been buying metal working tool and sort of teaching myself to metal work. Right now I am mainly using them to restore and modify old bicycles. Now I am to the point to where I want to create custom "tanks" for some...

muldo: I followed your link from the other page. You are right, most gals wouldn't go for that. So mine will be just a dream but I am glad to see you are "Livin the dream!" so to speak haha. Good luck with the station it's a great start.

Fire Safety: Fire extinguisher and or sprinkler systems. Are you prepared?

Ha! "Response zone" I get it, good one. Jack: Good point. We have a pretty good policy but I may need to call in and make sure I am covered.

    Parts Washer fluid?

Big-Foot: I agree. We used to use Simple Green to clean the shop floor in the Navy and it worked ok for that but for washing parts you just can't substitute those other types of solvents with it. I used to have a small carburetor cleaner can with a basket that I use to use for cleaning everything.

Fire Safety: Fire extinguisher and or sprinkler systems. Are you prepared?

I just recently got a welder and started to weld again and it I was reminded why you need all the right gear. Like gloves and proper clothing. Luckily I still have clothing I can use but still need to get something more durable. I am also looking to get my part washer refilled and would hate for...

    Parts Washer fluid?

Yeah, the flammable part if it which ever solvent I use is another thing I think about. I live in a pretty hot part of Texas and it can get pretty hot in my garage. Does the Safety Kleen fluid take heat pretty well?

    Parts Washer fluid?

That's right, they are located in Plano, TX just up the road from where I work. I may have to give them a call. Maybe I can just take my tubs up there and exchange them and change the service call charges. Then there is a Tractor Supply by the house too.

    Parts Washer fluid?

I have this old Safety Kleen brand parts washer that was given to me by my father in-law. He said the fluid was still good in it but I think he forgot he dumped his used motor oil in it waaaaay after the fluid evaporated. DO any of you guys use one of these? What do you use for cleaning fluid?

    Show us your welding projects

No too proud of this but it's the first thing I have welded in almost 20 years. And that was when I was in school in the Navy. I did this with my new HF 90 amp wire welder. Anywho, I am just trying to figure out the welder and decided to try and build a little trike. Once I am done I will also...
