Hello, I was looking to fix up an old Craftsman I just picked up for free. I was scrolling through looking at your work and it's amazing what you're able to do. I was planning on trying to remake it myself but I don't think I can do it to the same level. I saw on post number #251 you redid the Craftsman 1hp bench grinder label for model # 397.19360. That is the same model and machine I picked up. I was wondering if you still had that file and would be able to reprint one with my serial number on it? I attached some pics of my machine and labels. Also if you had the Sears Best label.

Hi Matt,

John Eagan from Raleigh here. You have made labels for me in the past.

Today, I am restoring a vintage Cutler-Hammer drum switch exactly like the one in post # 586 above. What I really need is a reproduction of the small Cutler-Hammer rivet on label that goes on the top front of the cover for the switch. If you don't have such a label already, I certainly can give you a photo to work with.

Please let me know what you might already have for repros of original labels for these old motor controllers. Thank you.

Baldor PB9 dust collector label reproduction. I fully disassembled the Baldor to replace bad bearings and give it a fresh coat of paint. Usually I try to peel old label off to get a flatbed scan to use as a template but this label broke into tiny pieces. So I had to resort to using a caliper to get measurements then reproduce from that. Printed with black over gold metallic vinyl. Turns out a 1/2HP dust collector isn’t powerful enough to keep up with my laser so I upgraded to a 1HP unit.

I’ve never made the label before but shouldn’t be too hard to reproduce. Any chance to peel it off (heat gun helps soften adhesive) and get flatbed scan I can use as template? Otherwise I need some good measurements of each text block.

The picture was just for reference. Mine is in much worse shape since someone peeled a portion of it off. I’ll take an actual picture of what I’ve got and post it shortly.

Quick label for a 1961 Wilton Cadet vise restoration. Top is original label I peeled off before stripping and painting and below are my reproductions. A coat of spray paint followed by a clear coat and it’s ready to go back into service! I always have a few restorations going on simultaneously. This one I wrapped up in a weekend but a few have been dragging on way too long.

Sioux Tools Valve Grinder reproduction tag. This is one of that larger labels I’ve made at 12” in diameter. All I had was a photograph of the original but that was enough to make an accurate reproduction. Printed then a clear gloss lamination was applied. I can’t want to see it installed!

I made a set of data plates for a Military Jeep M725 Ambulance. The originals were in rough shape and one was almost completely faded away. These were all laser engraved using a Trotec Speedy 400 on matte black anodized aluminum, then trimmed and hole punched to be ready for installation. Highly durable finish that won’t fade or wear.

Craftsman 150 drill press head band for a vintage 103.24500. This was printed with Black, Red, and White on clear then applied to gold tinted aluminum 0.020” thick so it could be easily wrapped around the press. A perfect fit.

Original and new label side by side, and installed.

These headband labels were a challenge! But here they are. I didn’t have the exact pattern of engine turn, but I think it came out great.

(The top one is the original)

Made some Craftsman model number tags. I used to make these by embossing the aluminum, then applying an adhesive back print on top. These were laser engraved matte black aluminum. It makes for an incredible durable nearly exact match. The only trick was to leave a little extra material at the bottom edge so that the embossing machine would be lined up perfectly. Then I trim off that material to make the final tag.

@mattblast - Any chance you could do/have done this logo? I don’t have a physical example but might be able to do a rough extrapolation based on the mounting holes. Pics of the logo are taken from google searches.

I can definitely make this, but would need to know the exact position of each hole.

Here you go!

This was a bit of a challenge, because all I had was a skewed photo and the measurement between the three holes. But it came out great!
