I have the 1A Noco to use as a trickle charger. It works and shuts off when the battery is full- as he shows. I have an old "dumb" metal box Craftsman if I need to throw more juice into a battery, but I've only used it like twice in ten years. I was surprised how many of them overcharged the battery and didn't shut off once the battery was at ~13V. Because this isn't rocket science, and if Noco can do it for $30, then get your **** together and figure it out.

I enjoy almost all of his tests. Sometimes he misses the boat on something obvious, disappointing but rare, but it's free to watch. While I don't watch everything he does, I do watch at least 8/10. This was a good test IMO.

Hopefully he does a round 2 with better chargers than any of those. Seems like a lot of people in the comments on that video are calling for it.

I'd like to see how some of the other >$100 chargers out these days compare to the Clore PL2320 (also rebadged/sold as a MAC MT6340B and Bluepoint EEBC61220).

What about the optima? I love mine for the screen showing real data .. like amps, conditioning and volts... Best I ever owned.

I have a couple of the CTEKs, and they've been fine for me. I've gotten back a couple batteries that were deeply smacked at one point, so they've paid for themselves.

Didn't one of those chargers tested have a way to "bypass" the smart charging system and start charging a completely dead battery ?

This is my main complaint with “smart” chargers. I have been able to bring back a mostly dead battery with a dumb charger and a load tester. I would buy a “smart” charger that would still charge a mostly dead battery.

I’m from the South. Good videos and information, but I have to slow the speed down on his video to 75% to make it bearable to watch. It’s like the guy is on speed to me.
Alabama here. I do enjoy our slower speech cadence and often wonder how people from other parts of the country can speak so rapidly. We ARE, however, in the minority. Kinda like it that way, though.
