I guess I can finally make a thread in here. Finding Gregor's thread on Build-threads is what originally brought me here and to join back in 2018!
So the better 3/4's and I finally bought a house together a Summer 2025. It is 2.5 acres fully treed with a 2300 sqft home from 2001 with an attached 24x24 garage about 20 minutes outside of town. Right on the river! (s m o l river) There is also a 24x16 shed on the property that's fully insulated and heated which will eventually come down when im ready to build a new shop in its place when we have money again...

The house itself was fairly move in ready, I took two weeks off of work to paint the house, redo baseboards, go through the HVAC, water tanks, address any electrical concerns and repair all the small things that the previous owners where incapable of doing correctly. My dad helped a lot during this time as a retired GC and surprisingly a rather spry man for being 72, he put in days that would bring me to my knees. you'll see his face in a few pics below.
The garage was bare studs to its current state in about 6 weeks of weekends. 24x24 9ft walls on a 6" curb. nothing crazy.. single bay IMO. Added two 20amp circuits and will be adding a 30 and a 50 amp as well. Added 3 outlets to the ceiling for 50ft chord reels, and moved the one for the opener.
Here's some pics! I still need to finish up the baseboard, window and door trim and paint the garage door.
Built two walls out to 2x6 to match the party wall and front wall. Oddly enough.. 2x6 window frame and door frame... idiot's.

R22 Rockwool in the walls.

Started the drywall.

Installed one of these direct drive openers.

And had a ladder fail on me in the process.. supposedly fractured my wrist in 3 places.

Added 6 4x2 80w LED panels (currently set to 50w).

Put R60 worth of Atticat in the ceiling.

Paint!

And that rounds up the garage mayhem to current.
I still need to finish up a few things, and I will updating as I go.
Thanks for looking
Matt
