Do you have to stock the pond yourself or is there a program with the local Game & Fish that does it?
I believe the State has a program that will stock it once when it’s new.

My Dad dug it in 1998 and they stocked it then. When we bought the estate in 2024 I restocked it and then I added a few more last fall.

It seems to be doing well and I don’t think I’ll have to restock it again unless some bad happens.

Just found your thread and read thru it.Great pole barns I would love to have a place with that much land. You keg urinal reminds me of the one at Cape Charles brewery in Va. I had never saw one before I went there. We try to go there every time we’re in the area visiting Chincoteague our favorite place.

Always been a fan of Corvairs but never had one.
Good luck with your restoration and enjoy the great shop.

Thanks to a friends help with the wiring and plumbing the Transair lines, I have compressed air.

Makes 24cfm @ 175psi. Fills the 80 gallon tank from empty to 170psi in about 4 minutes.

No leaks in my redneck cooler/water separator, the Transair plumbing or the three regulator/filters at each drop.

The green light on the exterior of the tool room tells you the compressor is energized, the red one tells you the Milwaukee and Dewalt chargers are energized so I don’t forget to turn them off at the end of the night.

Just looked at your thread. Nice box, mine is very similar. Dad and brother both retired navy, I was hatched at Great Lakes Naval Air Station.

Pretty cool to have a stocked pond on your property! I can't believe that bluegill went for a lure that big. Any bass in there?
Yes.

I haven't caught any big ones yet but a while back I had a big'un chase a hooked bluegill up to the dock as I crank it in. I free-lined the bluegill as soon as I saw him chasing it but he didn't eat it so I didn't catch him.

I spotted a PVC conduit in the annex pics before concrete was done. I'm guessing it's getting some power ?

I would have recommended some for at least a couple of LED strip lights inside, exterior light and an outlet. . battery charger/maintainer.

Yeah - that was kind of a last minute decision.

It's purely for storage and I wasn't going to bother with electricity.

The issue is the north end of circle drive goes around that building and I decided I wanted a dusk-till-dawn wall pack on the north eve to light up that portion of the driveway and another dusk-till-dawn wall pack on the front to light up that part of the driveway otherwise it is really dark back there.

I think I am going with some LED strip lights on the ceiling and an outlet on the ceiling in the dead center of the building with a 50' Flexilla retractable cord on the ceiling.

Not putting an opener of the door (for now).

I am still several weeks from having a garage door - for the life of me I don't understand why there is a 8-10 week lead time on getting a black garage door. Its a C.H.I. door - they are made in Arthur, Illinois which is only about an hour and a half north of me...Hell, I'll go get it!!! lol

Wow! I ordered a couple of black doors about three years ago, and It was the same lead time. I just figured that things still hadn't recovered from Covid.

I guess not.

Today was my lifelong bestfriend’s birthday.

There are pics of us riding Big Wheels together when we were 4 years old- that’s what I mean by lifelong.

Took him to lunch and surprise-suprise he wanted to go to the place with the giant breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches.

He is the guy that runs a bodyshop. While his guys have been busy with collision work, he put an engine in this 1966 Impala 4-door station wagon.

My first question was …… why!!!

Well there is a good answer - around here they do this thing called “Beaters with Heaters”. Basically bar hopping (with a DD) in old POS cars. Kind of like a Jeep Poker Run in jalopies.

He is getting this going for his daughter to take….lol

And yes, he drove it to lunch with no hood.

That beater with a heater sounds like fun!
Do they let old guys like us participate?

Funny that you mention long time friendships. Just last week I traveled back to my hometown to the funeral of my best friends mother. We had been best buds since second grade when he and his mother moved back to town when his father was killed (Air Force). His mother was a really great lady, she was kind of a second mother to several of us.

Lots of reminiscing with folks I've known since grade school, one guy I've know forever mentioned that I probably wish I still have my 65 Chevy Impala SS...and yes, I do.

That breaded pork loin looks tasty, reminds me that it's time I got offline and started on dinner.

I changed my mind on running electric to the Annex.

I really want to be able to light up the north end of the circle drive between the new shed, the pond and the pasture. It's dark back there and the best way to do it is with dusk-till-dawn wallpack lights on the north eve and above the garage door of the new shed.

Motion lights are completely out of the question. I learned that when we first moved back and I put some up. The deer, *****, opossums, foxes and God knows what else turns them into disco lights.

Then the "while-we're-at-it" kicked in. If I gonna run electric to it, I just as well put some interior lights and a couple receptacles in it. I'm not getting carried away; just two outlets and six 48" LED strip lights.

Picked up the strip lights and wallpacks at Menards this morning while they are doing the 11% rebate thing even through running the electric is several weeks off.

Finally started moving stuff from the main shed into the annex.

All the Crusty Corvair parts, lawn stuff and stuff we should have thrown away when we moved.

Organized it well enough, we can even get the Beater Tacoma in there as well.

Once I got the shed somewhat emptied, I was able to put up the Snap-On light I won a couple weeks ago in my dealers weekly raffle.

Hopefully within the next couple weeks we will have electricity to the annex and a garage door and opener.

Like everything around here - it’s a work in progress

Couple pics from today’s labor
