Brake clean very effective. Seconds to death.

Haven't really decided how to arrange stuff in the newly open bay. Plugged in the woodworking tools so they can be used.

Started going through the CNC router stuff. I think 4'x8' is too big and not needed. 4'x4' (well 50" for 49" wide MDF) with ability to slide a whole sheet half way in. Snowballs into a dust collection system.

Well I made it out of HF without buying anything. I'm not sure how I should feel about it, but wife will be ecstatic. Part of my problem is I haven't put the time or planning into what I need, exactly.

I have a basic service cart, it's better than nothing. I think I want one with drawers. Leave a subset of common tools in it. But which tools? Do I really need duplicates? Or split up what I have? Which ones?

I have a single HF side cab on dirty side of the shop that has related weld/grind stuff in it. Would be good to have more space. Move all abrasives into it. Lathe tooling. Wood working tools.

I need more space on clean side for supplies like heatshrink, wire, hardware. Another 44" roller base would be a good fit. shuffle things around. But they are about $700 now. Even better would be another bench with a pair of 44s. But not sure I need more bench area... Maybe something tall and not so wide would work. Lots of those out there.

Or buy another giant main toolbox and use the 44 base/top/side/cab on the other side. I dunno.

Trolling FBMP for toolboxes also, open to used.

I got one of the mechanics carts around 2019 or so. It's been way handier than I thought it would be. I keep all my most used stuff in there, and it's not too heavy to move it around easily. My old SC box holds the lesser used/specialty tools that don't need to move much.

Did some thinking last night on organization. Feels overwhelming to rearrange the entire shop, I've be locked into the basic layout since the beginning, but now those restrictions are not the same. I think the path is to leave most things alone and focus on smaller improvements. More toolbox space would be nice, but on the other hand simply using the space I have more efficiently is a better first step. Having one item in a drawer isn't a good use of a drawer. I have a collection of blow molded tool cases that would be better off in a cabinet. Should also move all the woodworking tools to one location by the bigger machines, a cabinet would serve better for this also. So I think I should figure out what would work best for those things before buying another box.

Types of solutions
-free /cheap
-Homemade wood or metal
-big box store turds
-high quality used metal cabinet
-Other items that can be made into cabinets - server rack, file cabinet, etc.

For additional drawer space, a tall skinny setup with minimal footprint seems like the winner.

Another option is to buy one the the 'workbenches' with drawers as a base and place or build a cabinet with door on the top of it.
