These just got here. I know they make steel and stainless tools and usually the steel ones are black but these are fairly magnetic so dunno. I expected steel so no big deal to me. Everything looks ok.

USPS tracking says it was not shipped out yet.
suncoas deals said:Good morning, we've just issued you a full refund. It appears that USPS has lost the item during shipping, and if a case were started, they would likely just cancel the order anyway. To save you the trouble, we went ahead and processed the refund for you now.
*trust but verify. It's always a pain when I order a collet set and have to check them all for runout. Always open & check for imperfections (& potential partial refunds) when dealing with import bottom of the barrel.Your on fire Chingon! It's amazing how cheap the tooling is these days.
Just came in, well cushioned, not bad at all for the price. There's a bottom guide rod for the jaw to remain parallel & centering v notches both length & cross wise (very handy feature). I think it's on par w/some "Palmgren" one I bought on Amazon a while back w/o the tilt feature. The base is a bit larger than I expected but that one's on me. A bit dirty from grinding dust/oil mixed.
Bought 2 cheap 5c sets.*trust but verify. It's always a pain when I order a collet set and have to check them all for runout. Always open & check for imperfections (& potential partial refunds) when dealing with import bottom of the barrel.
Yeah, good rule of thumb is inspect anything hardened China before throwing it on a spindle.Bought 2 cheap 5c sets.
Metric 1-28 with tray. Will not fit in my hardinge clone lathe. do fit in my bostar scroll 5c chuck. suspect keyway slot is not correct. tried several. also have very sharp edge that will scratch any parts when inserting or removing. did not check runout. seller offered half refund. I was going to check runout on some and he processed complete refund next day.
1/8"-1" 57 piece set by 64th. Will not fit in my hardinge clone lathe. do fit in my bostar scroll 5c chuck. suspect keyway slot is not correct. only tried the 1" as i needed it now. opened up the keyway and dusted off the sharp edges. runout was horrible. took the collet back out and looking by eye it is not at all centered. seller asked me for a $ number of refund. I was going to check runout on some and he sent shipping label next day. shipped out not returned yet.
side note. the bostar uses a setscrew instead of a key so you can adjust it to make almost anything work.
the single 25mm I bought from haas is beautiful. Have some old shars that are good. may order a 1/64 set from them. waiting on refund to order others.
This tool is worth keeping around (just a baby dremel w/diamond burrs that is very handy due to size).
the aluminum collet nut did cross strip so stole the steel one from my dremel.Save 30%, it's available for $6.99 thru 11/30 for ITC![]()
I need to make a list of what all I have. I have 2 sets that are missing a few by 1/16ths. plus a few random 32nd or 64th I do have. Was hoping to have it all at once instead of trying to piece together with good used.Yeah, good rule of thumb is inspect anything hardened China before throwing it on a spindle.
Lots of 2nd hand 5C hardinge so buying similarly priced import new is hard to justify though there's some vendors (precision matthews comes to mind) that seem to carry decent import stuff. The square and hex import collets are priced well too.
I've had so-so luck w/ER collets I've ordered. ....that 'findmall' seller seems to be both on amazon and ebay and at least runout seems to be OK from what I've bought. Some of the collets aren't pretty (missed split saw nicks and what not) but at least they've read ok. The same seller has different price ranges too, I've paid full retail and the collets were pretty nice looking, all tumbled & ground, no sharp edges and read fine and I've paid discounted prices and they've been in the margin of acceptable (+/- 2-3 thou for what I'm doing) with some cosmetically yucky. The stuff they advertise w/low runout seems to be priced a bit higher.
I bought a different set from another ebay vendor and most of those were terrible, had to clear the slots on all and use a diamond burr on all edges....I think my best fix was 6 thou runout improvement. Then I've bought some deeply discounted ones on Amazon from another rando and all those were perfect. Seems to be the case of 'find a good source' and pay the premium since they likely have A rated/B rated products.

This just got here. all arbors bagged and whole thing heat shrinked. No rust issues, some splitting saw flashing, all threads seem fine.
Harsh delivery charge...
Cheaper to just buy from Snap-on, and you could actually warranty them if needed:Best price I’ve seen the Malco Eagles grips going for in a while if you really want a pair of LP7WC.
