Raining again today as usual.
Spent nearly 1/2 an hour trying to get the shift knob button on the autosleeper to stop jamming in when it was pressed. Think i've got it sorted now, though who knows.
Its still starting OK so maybe i need to have a run around in it, park it on the drive again, switch it off and see if it restarts.

While looking through a post about my old school on facebook i found out my ex died back in November last year. Hadn't spoken to her in nearly 30 years. She's got zero online presence so i've no idea what happened.

They say you never forget your first. Suppose its true. Always wondered what happened to her as she kind of dropped off the face of the planet for a couple of decades.
She had troubles when i was with her, suffering from bipolar disorder but she was the nicest person you'd ever meet.

Toilet door on the garage blew open in the gale and hit against the rear 1/4 of the inlaw's prius, making a little dent and the handle chipped the paint off back to the primer. Offered to fill and respray the 1/4 as i can get the paint for £15 ($20), but no, the FIL is taking it to Toyota. £900 ($1200) including VAT.

Not that I don’t think you could repair it
just a idea why don’t you do it and if fil is not happy then let him have it repaired
at Toyota. 👍
Its a 9 year old Toyota but he wants it professionally done (like everything else on it) as its still under the extended warranty he keeps buying year after year.
The thing is the rest of the car is covered in scratches and dents from two 80+ year olds driving it and seemingly having zero spatial awareness while driving.
Over the past 5 years its had over 3 grands worth of bodywork done to it through various insurance claims (all their fault).

Personally, i'd just stick one of these stickers on it and be done with it.

👍 Im with you on this one it’s a old person thing my dad and FIL were just the same when they where living
My dad did everything on his cars. It was only when he bought a Peugeot 206, opened the bonnet and went 'WTF is all this' that he started getting someone else to do work on it.
To be fair i wouldn't want to touch anything under the bonnet on a modern car either. My 33 year old VW T4 is bad enough with everything controlled by one of two ECUs.

I much prefer working on these:

It reminds me of when I was a lad and I had a mate that lived in a station house .
on a weekend I use to sleep there but before bed time we would go outside and watch the bats flying about They came out the tunnel about 1/2 mile up the track .
The house was very scary with the floors creaky and the windows rattling in windy weather
O and there was a ghost as well All true

Are you doing a signal cabin. I may have missed you doing one
G
I'm planning on putting one at one end of the platform.
This is the signal box at Nunthorpe on the other side of the road from the station. My mum's house backs onto the furthest away end of the platform. I could just about see the signal box from my bedroom window.

This is the card download which i might get and modify to look similar.

This is the signal box just up from the station my uncle Ron was the signal man there for many years
Its so weird seeing railway buildings still standing when all the track has been lifted.

I do love a signal box, they are such beautiful little buildings.
Many years ago I made this for a guy whose back garden railway became his business.

It’s 1/4 size and being an engineer he helpfully turned up with a full set of plans

Thats a cool bit of kit. I wasn't expecting to see all the levers in the interior.
