The wire seems to be copper and is designed to be pulled out a little at a time. I would guess there is a few feet of wire. My guess is from the mid 50's to early 60's. It shows no sign of being used.

It is for marking your tools or whatever.... works on 12 volts....
I have one, it works fair not great...... It gets HOTTER than hell after a few minutes of use.....

The pen looking device is just that - It's a battery operated scratch arc marking pen. I had an older one that was 6 volts that looked EXACTLY like this one... handed down from dad, who got it when HE was a pup...a lot of his tools were marked using it, then mine were as well. Hell, I might still have it hiddein in a box somewhere...

The other one is a saw tooth set, or as I used to call it, a saw tooth breaker offer...

Thanks everyone...Yep, not rocket science. I am guessing that as the tip burns down you just pull out what you need. I thought scribes had a solid tip. Love this place...I'll give it a try. Enjoy your tools...CB
