The flagstone walkway looks great, however my back couldn’t handle another winter of shoveling it.

Pulled the old stones Monday, framed it up Tuesday, had a friend help with the pour on Wednesday, cut joints and pressure washed to expose the aggregate Thursday, clean up yesterday and today.

We had a really good base to work with and added mesh after this and rebar in the porch.

It’s nice not having to watch each of your steps.

How will the exposed aggregate hold up to winter snow and freeze/thaw cycles? The apron at our house in Prescott is failing pretty badly and needs to be replaced from winter weathering.
We had really good luck with it at our last house. In addition to the pea gravel sized aggregate they must use some type of binder because cleaning the overspray off everything after exposing the aggregate took quite a bit of work with the pressure washer.

Mom asked that I make her a new TV cabinet last year and it finally made it to the top of the list. Started with some maple plywood and built a quick bottom case. The HD plywood is junk however I was too lazy to drive two hours to get a quality product.

Added some maple trim and drawer fronts.

Next up was the top surround.

Added some crown to the center and started on the side case.

She didn’t want “doors” or adjustable shelves so I just added some quick and dirty shelf supports. Still need to finish up the shelves for the side cabinets and some sanding.

Nice TV cabinet.

If you go through through bunk you can usually find enough decent sheets to make it work.
Don’t get me wrong I spent some time going through the bunk and the veneer was really nice.
My issues came when breaking the sheets down, the amount and size of the voids in the plywood was the problem. One panel had a 12” x 3” void in the center layer and another panel delaminated when I cut a dado. Two other panels developed bows when they were cut down to size and I can only think that must have been from voids as well. Ended up making it all work, but it wasn’t without a few cuss words.

Wow, that's pretty bad. I've had the occasional void and edge delamination but not to that extent. I wonder if the different plants have that much of a difference in quality. I was getting all the HD purebond from the west virginia plant (and it had a poplar core)

This plywood was marked from Columbia in Canada.
These two pieces were from two different sheets, same bunk.

I put this in the Woodworking forum and will add it here as well.

Looking for input and ideas for an a dedicated assembly table. I’ve been using my outfeed table however its length was restricting the assembly of bigger projects.

I have a nice hand tool workbench so this will be used for prep and assembly of projects.

Maximum size: 5’x 10’
Top material: Butcher block maple

Should I drill the top for bench dogs or use T track or skip it all together?

Would you add vise? If so what type?

I have a 4’x4’ 5/16” piece of stainless, that’s been leaning against the wall for 10 years, that I was thinking of inlaying in one corner of the top.

The legs are 16/4 mahogany and I am using 8/4 hard maple as the stretchers.
