I mainly work on Toyota and Honda products. Looking for a trim tool kit for removing engine under cover clips and door panels. Would the “dished tip” be of any benefit to me?

When they say dished, do they mean rounded instead of a v shape or a rectangle shape?

The dish is a slight circular indent in the fork. Maybe 1/32” deep.

I didn’t see a good picture Showing it.
The picture I attached isn’t correct, but kinda gives you an idea.

I believe SO has versions with the dish on either side of the fork depending on the type of clip

So the new versions are more rounded vs. the old vee designs?

I think this thread https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/difference-in-snap-on-trim-tools.240084/ clarifies part numbers on that.

And I don't think we're alone on feeling "There is a difference. We just didn't market for it this time."

Here's a couple pictures of one...

Dish only on the backside/bottom
Deeper than the 1/32" I previously posted. Similar to the older tool, but rounder

Snapon claims “Dished blade for better door panel clip and retainer contact”. If the dishing is on the underside and the user pries UP (ie: away from the dishing) how does the contact between the clip and the tool improve?
