This is what happens when you go to Harry J Espsteins and click on the what's new tab.

Wanted an additional set of long needle nose for a box at a different location and was going to pick up some Icons next time they were on sale but will give these a go.

My other set is a black hawk brand that may or may not be made anymore. If they are I don't know where to buy them.
Yup....that happens......been there....done that myself! :dunno:

Like a moth to a flame, I too click on the HJE new item tab a few times a week just to see what if anything was added.

I needed a new wright blue socket rail & clips for my Tekton 1/4 drive metric semi deep impact socket set so, while there I had to pick up a few other things. the IPS Hyper Long straight nose combination pliers seem to be popular. I also picked up the IPS little devil mini pliers. These seem pretty useful to me. They're arc joint pliers and the thing that look like a button isn't a button but, the head of the screw holding the plier halves together. Definitely different. Lastly, I got a coin screwdriver for changing batteries in my watch and who doesn't need a coin screwdriver. I think I'll hold off to Epstein's day for the Kukri knife they have. :wtf:

YES! In addition to Channellock, Klein, Wilde, Lang, C.S. Osborne, ProAmerica, and Williams, pliers, they've added Fujiya, Igarashi, Top, and Felo pliers!
Then there's the close-out stuff that won't come up in those searches:
U.S. made plated polished 6 inch slip joint pliers (no name) $4.00 each
China (PRC) "Diamond" 7 inch linemans pliers $3.50
China (PRC) "Diamond" 6 inch linemans pliers $3.50
Williams (import) 6 inch groove-joint pliers $5.00

And the return of Council Tool axes!

Great at catching oil, not so great at getting it into a container for disposal.

Mike

This is why I recommend the drain pans that are also containers:

Saves a step, saves another chance to make a mess.

That being said, I've done two oil changes on cars with 0W-20 oil lately and boy is that splashy like water during the initial sploosh! Wish I had my big dumb open drain pan for those, for any oil that wants to do down and splash out. I got one like what you found, at AutoZone a few years ago. They don't have it anymore. Neither does Advance.

Ah, here's a Neiko with an inward-curled lip.

Thanks guys. I don’t think I've seen one before that's overflow "resistant" LOL. Quick internet search came up with some with decent prices, but crazy shipping. I'll try again.

I have a really old plastic one with a drain tube, but my go-to oil catcher is a large tray (think under-bed Rubbermaid storage). Learned about that trick from working at Domino's Pizza a million years ago (we could buy heavy-duty plastic dough trays for $5). Used to put 30k miles a year on my cars, did a LOT of oil changes (not to mention brake jobs, but I digress...).

Great at catching oil, not so great at getting it into a container for disposal.

Mike

Ah, Here's a fairly-priced one at Wal-Mart;

New AST Made in the USA thread on Funnel to replace the one that broke during last years oil change adventure.
Have a project coming up that I feel more comfortable doing with an air hack saw.
Didnt want to pay $200 on a Sioux air saw for a one time use so I decided to buy an Astro Pneumatic saw since they participate in the forums here. Just need to get blades next.

I’ve had a few different small sets of left hand drill/busted screw removers but nothing bigger than 1/4”. I finally bit the bullet and bought a complete set to 1/2”.

It’s one of those purchases I hope I never need to use 🙏 🤣

New to me from a local sale:

1000016773.jpg

The Plomb ratchet was completely locked up with grease the consistency of half-dried wood glue, but worked fine once cleaned up. Tried Phil Wood Tenacious Oil (bicycle brand) and it feels nice, we'll see if it gets messy.

Facom wrench says "Vanachrome Scientific" on the reverse side, not sure if this was a specific line or just their general branding at the time.

I think I had only seen the Gellman adjustable wrench in photos before, so that was neat to find. Patent date on the reverse is 1923. I measured the toothed positions when I got home and it seems fairly useless for metric sizes, suspect it would be similar with imperial sizes but haven't bothered to convert fractions. Probably more of a novelty piece.

Forgot to put in the picture but I also got an essentially brand new Japanese SK thumbwheel ratchet clone.

New 3/8" 43 (center), 1/4" 42 below it and an undated pebble handle (converted to 1/2") above it

A couple days ago I helped out a friend and changed the belt and tensioner in his wife’s car.

A long(er) handled 3/8" ratchet and a longer extension would have been handy.

I remedied that yesterday.

Ol Zeb needed some tools so he hitched up the buggy and went to town. He pulled up as I was leaving.

He needed some 2-stroke oil for his bass boat and bearing buddies for the trailer.

Not joking! An actual thing in some groups.

Now check out the horse-handling skills on this guy!

Easter deliveries. To my surprise, the Amazon gang worked hard on Easter delivering orders. From top to bottom, A new type of push pin pliers to me, sold under different brands. This pair branded Abrithm. The springs on these are concealed in the pliers themselves. The concept is the small jaws go under the center pin head and when you squeeze the handles, the inner jaws pull the center pin while the outer jaws push down on the wide part of the push pin. These seem to have better reach than the blue handled pair. I'll let you know how they work out. Next up is an SK folding knife. D2 Blade G10 handle, like 4.5 inches closed, button lock/release. Sharp out of the box, Beefy overkill for shop tasks. Lastly, SK Bolt Extractor extra long combination wrench set 8-19mm no skips. Nice chrome, feel, and balance out of the box in a plastic storage tray. Claim to be able to remove a 90% rounded fastener. Possibly the same as Capri and Astro's versions but, Capri isn't offering a complete set at the moment, and Astro's set isn't as complete. Fine Great Star Chinesium on a Sunday.

Ditto! They could be buying a new hammer. (But not a new hammer handle, I mean, who can't make a new handle with a draw knife on their shavehorse?) They could be buying something else.

Matco Thursday last week. The 5/64” OptiGrip is a warranty replacement. The 1/4” ratchet is replacing my Snap-on long flex head 1/4”. The Snappy is a good ratchet but I legitimately need the finer tooth count of the Matco. Plus, I just prefer the feel of the Eighty8. It’s my first all chrome handle and I got to say, I may like it more than my comfort grips. Not entirely sure, but the chrome feels good.

I got 2 of these last week. Stacked the 2 tops together on one base and the other base will get repurposed for something else. Not the greatest quality but on par with the HF/Northern Tool versions. I got both for under $200 shipped from Aliexpress saving about $100 vs others on sale. The clamps are cheap junk but the hold blocks are actually pretty good. Some saved 16mm nuts and bolts from my 2 post shipping crate were a bonus I didn't know I had.

I made a rolling frame for the table and a well used but cheap HF side cabinet. Back next week with finished photos.

Repurposed base now a junk collector/out feed table.

I did bodywork for a living before I joined the Navy and had a Snap-On guy.

Around 1988-1989 I bought my Mother a set of Pearl handled, special edition Snap-On screwdrivers for the kitchen for Mothers Day.

When we bought my sisters share of the estate, everything on the property came with it.

Going through their stuff I found the Phillips screwdriver I had given Mom decades before but never came across the flat one. I figured it would eventually show up.

It’s now been two years so I gave up and found the mate on eBay.

It came in today.

The yellowing / patina almost matches the one I gave Mom almost 40 years ago.

My floor jack situation was unchanged for 20 years. I felt that only having 1 good jack helped motivate me to finish whatever is on the lift to make it available. But that one jack has been in pieces for almost a year now as I was restoring it and got it powder coated, and haven't taken a weekend to finish it. While in the process of the rebuild, I realized it was never really rated appropriately for my truck or SUV, probably lending to why it needed a rebuild.

I decided a while ago that if this particular model came up on a good sale again, that I would get one. $100 off today. "High Performance" too I guess 🤔

Added to my Systainer tower with a 337 Combi. I was able to fit 6 Milwaukee batteries, a Surge, etc. all in the top compartment. This previously took took both drawers of a two drawer Sortainer.

I’ve been wanting a ratcheting screwdriver to put in my Harley tool kit, and came across this purple one on the truck last week:
IMG_6245.jpeg

Also had FoamFit Tools make me a few organizers, one was for my 3 sets of Icon T-handles and another for the Icon SAE & Metric stubby flex ratcheting wrenches;
