I picked up a gyro vise free, the only issue is the swivel lock is missing.
Searches come up empty on any for sale so I will have to make one.
Does anyone have this part and can you give me measurements?
I could make something without them but it would go quicker if I had dimensions to work with.

Easier to part that one out and buy a complete one.

I might be able to help you with this, but I'm out of town till Fri.

By the way, IIRC, when I got mine, I drilled and threaded the housing and added a T-handle bolt to keep the vise position until it's locked. I don't use the vise often enough to remember the details.

Send me a PM on Fri.

I have Versavise (probably the same vise under different name, but please check dimensions.
I scanned the part, took some photos and made a quick sketch with some dimensions. Sorry for not making it look neat and proper, not providing thread info for the adjustment screw in the head (probably, 3/8"-20), etc.

I guess the best bet will be, first, to make sure the hole and overall dimensions look suitable for your vise model. If they're, I'd 3D print it using the .STL file (it's in .ZIP file), recheck a few dimensions of the printout and compare them with the sketch (you may need to calibrate the printer or enlarge/reduce the model and print it again). Then if it looks like it fits, machine the part out of metal (or 3D print it in metal :)).

If you are successful, please let us know and post a photo.

Good luck!

I think that a 3D print off the .STL file I attached will solve 80% of the headaches and uncertainties and allow you to take any measurement directly from the printed part when you're ready to machine a copy. Of course, don't expect to see .001" precision with plastic, but even when I tried and calibrated a 3D printer of mine 6-7 years ago (and never had any previous experience), I was able to stay within .040" or so. For this part such tolerance it more than sufficient except hole diameters and, maybe, a couple of areas of contacts.

If you don't have a 3D printer, there're many online places which can print it for you VERY inexpensively. You just send them the .STL file. And you can ask them to verify a few (2-3) key dimensions before they print and send you the printed part. Usually, the services hire young guys who love to make some extra cash at home using their printers. Sometimes they advertize directly. And they know how to handle and correct files, print to size, etc. I dealt with them a couple of times and was very pleasantly surprised by their prices and quality. I never tried metal printing expecting high costs, but it's worth to inquire. Maybe by now it's more affordable (although a have a doubt).
