^ I scored a Lenox as part of a "package deal". First time I used it I thought "Why didn't I know about these before?"
Major game changer.
Major game changer.
I wonder if all Akro-Mills drawer units are missing one drawer.....
I recently bought a stack of loose drawers to try to cure this disease.
I've tried all sorts of ways to epoxy and reinforce cracked bins.....Not all but many, and most at least have a couple/few cracked/broken.

I've found this Nebo light to be very handy. It will clip right on the brim of a hat. It allows me to have both hands free and buy more tools. Recharges quickly while driving.I was near the Restore in the nearby larger city, so I stopped by. They have changed the way they display things, so it requires more digging. Not only that, but the lighting is much dimmer. Next time I'm bringing a battery-powered work light!
I find that by having a flashlight, I have found tools that others have missed. I have found Snap-on tools in boxes that many flippers and other people have looked through… hours into an estate sale… long after anything that good should have been gone.I've found this Nebo light to be very handy. ^ I'm still looking for a later version of that combo to complete a set.Super Quality 773 combo 1/2
I already carry four things when scrounging:I find that by having a flashlight, I have found tools that others have missed. I have found Snap-on tools in boxes that many flippers and other people have looked through… hours into an estate sale… long after anything that good should have been gone.
My list isI already carry four things when scrounging:
Pocket slide calipers
Small Tape Measure
Magnifying Glass
Tiny Wire Brush
The measuring tools are quite useful.
The magnifying glass and wire brush often help identify the item as interesting or not.
I'm sure to add a light to the list.

I cleaned up the Hinsdale socket set and box. Painted it a Hunter Green. Just wanted to share. We traveled up to the Texas Panhandle to unfortunately attend a close friend’s funeral. While we were there we went by the Council of the Blind thrift store, I picked up some wrenches for $5. On our road trip home, we stopped at an antique/junk store in Clarendon. I found this very rusted Hinsdale G20 box with sockets stuff. The box had dirt in it and had been sitting out in the elements. I probably paid too much considering the condition but I could not leave it behind. Paid $30. Once we got back home, I had to put everything through the wire wheel just to try and read any markings. I am going to put the box in some evaporust and try to preserve it. I love a challenge. A few of the sockets were BOG MFG Co. I have never seen them before. Sadly some of the others were to pitted to read.
here is what I got.

You can get ball caps with LED "headlights" built into the brim I use an older one for my nighttime Camp hat. Super handy.
they sell them now either rechargeable or with flat button cels
I have carried a Dorcey AAA LED pocket flashlight for over 30 years. I used it every single day.
Was at one sale and was bummed I forgot my flashlight so I must have bitched out load, lady overheard me and said how about the light on your cellphone ?? ding ding ding, I thanked her and it was good enough light at that particular time.
Well for today's grand estate sale , you needed:My list
Smart phone w 2-10x zoom (getting used more n more)
Flashlight, penlight style. ""
Hands that are 9" pinkie fingertip to thumbtip
Walters pocket guide (at the flea only)
Folding caliper rule (flea only)
I guess I didn't list the phone, as it's always in my pocket. IO do use it a lot, both for grabbing quick pic of things to post here (mostly "what the hell is it?") and to get good, readable pics of equipment data plates that I can't easily read.Smart phone w 2-10x zoom (getting used more n more)
Damn!! They publish that in advance? We find out about ours a week or two before the event if we're lucky. Too bad my kids are no longer there.Just a heads up to my fellow Buckeyes. Community garage sales start today in the SW area.

Around me, most sales get published on FB and there are so many "garage sale" and "thrift sale" FB pages that it is hard to find the sales-and the people leave their ads up for weeks or months after they are over, so there are a lot to try to sort through. And it seems that more and more people just put a sign on the corner, so you never find out about a sale unless you happen to drive through the neighborhood.Damn!! They publish that in advance? No FB here. And most of the good stops will be outside of the small towns because of what's going on "in town". Guarantee most of those folks don't FB eitherAround me, most sales get published on FB and there are so many "garage sale" and "thrift sale" FB pages that it is hard to find the sales-and the people leave their ads up for weeks or months after they are over, so there are a lot to try to sort through.
FB has been useless for yard, garage, estate sales. It usually posts them to my feed days after they are over.No FB here. And most of the good stops will be outside of the small towns because of what's going on "in town". Guarantee most of those folks don't FB either![]()
FB seems to be by far how most sales around here are posted. I've never checked Next Door, but pretty much no one in the area uses CL.FB has been useless for yard, garage, estate sales. It usually posts them to my feed days after they are over.
Next Door has some, put their piss poor search engine gives you months old ones first.
