UPDATE- The S-K box is a #6000 Master Mechanics box from 1953. Its either gonna be restocked as a #4053 or a #4066 set depending on what I have in spares! Either way I've got a new home for my midget #4098 1/4 drive set. And, the box had a unicorn #40950 crossbar in it that I can use to help finish my #4098R 1949 set!

OP- After the estate sale but before the barn sale, I ran by another FB Marketplace seller. This was advertised as an old toolbox with some Craftsman. I arrived and struck a deal on this Williams toolbox. And then she said she'd throw this other toolbox in as well. A sweet old S-K box with the removable tray. Both boxes loaded with new and old stock S-K sockets and drivers and what appears to be two full sets of Craftsman 1/2", 3/8" sockets with one set of 1/4" sockets. Other multiple drives of sockets included Indestro, Thorsen, Fleet, Kraeuter, Action, Penncraft, Giller and Walden. And this sweet little set of Snap-On Allen wrenches.1000024167.jpg1000024168.jpg1000024169.jpg1000024169.jpg

Last weekend, I hit the tail end of a three day estate sale and found a few things. Best was a seemingly complete craftsman gear puller. Actually, the box and some parts were in the basement, the puller was in the garage, and I reunited them.
The Williams wrenches will probably go in the sale pile, because it would be years to find a set and I have enough sets to complete.
Then a Plomb DOE, boxes of nails, a file, and what I think might be a rivet setter, but if anyone knows better, please let me know.

I only spotted one sale with quite a few tools shown on estatesales.com. It was a ways away in Alamo, CA and we vacillated about even going since the ggogle map showed a really steep driveway and my copilot is still in a walking boot. After a difficult climb we made it to the garage only to find mostly modern and extremely expensive prices. I found one overpriced item that I wanted. It was a Huot Letter bit index which I’ve never seen at a sale. I also grabbed a full tube of blue Loctite. IMG_7965.jpegIMG_7968.jpegIMG_7966.jpeg
We made it back to the car, with some difficulty, and headed for home. In order to avoid bad Bay Area traffic we drove by the San Pablo dam on back roads. We spotted an estate sale sign in El Sobrante that I had assumed started on Saturday. We stopped in and the feel was that we were shopping at a combination of Home Depot, Lowe’s and Harbor Freight. Fortunately, doing some thorough searching turned up a few items. IMG_7970.jpeg
I could see the Wiss crimping pliers being useful for straightening bent toolsets. IMG_7983.jpegIMG_7986.jpeg
The Klein tester worked perfectly after some batteries were installed. IMG_7984.jpeg
The Snap-on 7mm combo and 6mm hex bit were good finds. IMG_7973.jpegIMG_7975.jpeg
I cleaned up the New Britain 1/4” drive flex handle. IMG_7980.jpeg
The sliding square was Craftsman and I grabbed a potential crossbar. The prices at the second sale were so reasonable that they more than made up for the first sale.

After today's estate sale and enroute to buy an item off FB Marketplace, I came across a sign with yard and barn sale. No dates but the signs looked fresh. Surprised to find they started today. Lady remarked to check out the tractors for sale in the barn...where there are tractors, there are tools! This lot consists of New Britain, Fleet, Williams and Indestro wrenches and sockets, Napa, Challenger wrenches and varying drives of Bonney, Snap-On, Penncraft, Crescent, Firestone, Action and Herbrand sockets. Drive tools are 1/2" Challenger ratchet, Crescent 1/4" flex handle and a full Westline 1/4" hex set and driver (appears new). Also a McKaig-Hatch 10" crescent wrench and a nice Schnader tire pressure gauge. Oh, and a Husky 1/4 drive CM612 for my 1973 #9123 set! And a 1/2 to 3/4 Snap-On adapter1000024165.jpg1000024166.jpg

Nice trailer, why is it empty? LOL...

I’d need to see the top and bottom ends as pictured to say rivet set
There is a single other shallow hole on the side. Maybe 1/16" wide. The back and other edges are featureless, except for a lot of dents and bangs.

I really like those. They're a great size and well made. Sadly they don't seem to come up very often around here.

I have one too. Totally agree, great storage cabinets
There was 5 of them at the sale yesterday. I could only get to two before they were all sold. Currently both are full of misc hardware and weigh almost 60 pounds each. sadly one of the two has paint loss like a bit of brake fluid was spilled on it. I've ordered a new label via Ebay and hope to spiff it up before flipping. I've got to empty one just to compare the weights.

I've been lurking, but too busy to really participate. I know that I still need to award POTY for 2025.

Work has been difficult, but it will pay off this weekend. At least one, probably two, trailer loads of freebies coming my way. Closing the building (just moved to another), and lots of stuff didn't sell at the auction. Whatever I don't take will end up in a dumpster...

Stopped at two estate sales on my way home from work today.

First one had a plywood organizer with little drawers. Person running the sale said "$5, but I'll take $3." Had three singles in my wallet, sold!

Second stop had a bunch of China tools and some old cordless power tools. I happened to notice that one of the boards was set up on a Workmate, with included top clamps! Sticker on top said $10. I couldnt open my wallet fast enough! :pimpflash

Because I spend too much time out buying tools and not enough loading debris and junk off to the dump...I think Spring may finally be upon us here so yardwork shall begin soon (soon as the estate sales stop...ha ha)

I meant, why didn't you grab one of the tractors???!!!

I hit a couple estate sales, and this is what I found:
55199989309_5ca1d89a90_b.jpg
The top left items are from the first stop, box of lag screws, Armstrong extension/driver (sadly, ground off), outside calipers, push drill. The rest came from a ramshackle digger sale in the country: lube pad, file handle, long push drill, primers, small wrenches, 1944 dated canteen, Craftsman miniture DBE set, Craftsman ratchet, magnesium block, inside divider, DIN wrenches, Snap-on metric angle. $16 for all of that.

I drove all the way over to Earthwise yesterday to pick up an item - a little garden hanger for my apple tree - it's about 9 inches in diameter. The mountain tried to make an appearance yesterday.

Unfortunately they didn't have anything in the way of "tool" that I felt compelled to bring home.

Was sipping my morning coffee lamenting the lack of sales and saw one pop up on CL locally. Turned out to be an abandoned house with no electricity and obviously once inhabited by a machinist at one point. I got there several hours after the start time and it had already been picked pretty clean. Still lots of very old machines and tools in the basement, though. I wish I had the time/money to bring some of them home but settled on this small lot for $5.

Just to get out of the house, I went and hit a couple local sales.
55201257048_6fa3db5685_b.jpg
Most of these had been hit pretty hard the day before, but I was able to find a couple good things at one of them. Three vintage ammo boxes, Klein side cutters with striping hole from '61, Klein ratcheting wrench, Wards Lakeside DBE. $2

One "sale" today was via USPS. It was a FBM listing, just far enough away that mailing was more prudent than driving. The irony is both the seller and I attended the same estate sale on Thursday, we were both there at the same time, but because we'd never met in person, we didn't know until later that day. Matt(the seller) left that estate sale and dropped this package in the mail.
Craftsman 1/2" torque wrench ,not only BNIB,but in the box the box ships in.
Craftsman 3/8" dr 43951 Permanex case (already cleaned and now fill as it shipped in 1975ish)
Craftsman grinder quench tray and spark arrestors
Craftsman 1st gen 3/8" dr boxhead ratchet, this may be the ratchet that gets me to buy the handheld soda blaster at HF.
Craftsman long C 5/8" x 11/16"" deep offset
Craftsman C1 9/16" combo
Craftsman 1/2" drive speeder
Craftsman screwdrivers
Craftsman 1940's Circle H 1/4" drive set in a 1949/1950's??? case
Sears 4384 6 piece METRIC box end wrench set
Craftsman brass hose nozzle(not pictured)
