We use the garden hose, a wash bucket, car soap & a wash sponge & a wash mitt. Tried to use our Greenworks pressure washer to clean my wife's 21 Bronco Sport when she first got it with a soap cannon. It used so much more soap than the wash bucket ever did. Seemed a waste to me so we went back to using the wash bucket & a sponge.

They're killing it on the marketing game, for sure. Curious to hear your thoughts after using it.

I don't wash my cars much but would if I had an easy to use setup with warm water

Cheap *** Sealey pressure washer. Rainwater caught from garage roof filtered into 20 litre drum, mains water expensive, piped to cheap *** Sealey pressure washer. Fix8 bucket with magnetic grit guard for warm water and Simoniz shampoo. Snow foam shampoo and rinse.

We are poor in England.

I've been considering a giraffe tools pressure washer reel but it seems there's some solid options out there to build the same system on my own for about the same cost. Whats the pro's/cons's of each?

I'm leaning towards building my own now as it seems easier to fix or upgrade one component later as needed.

A DIY reel? I'd follow along on that

I'll get pics, but I have this Northern Hardware 30 amp, 240V electric pressure washer. https://www.northerntool.com/products/northstar-electric-cold-water-total-start-stop-stationary-pressure-washer-2500-psi-3-gpm-230-volts-1571108?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Pressure Washers > Electric-Cold Water Pressure Washers&utm_campaign=NorthStar&utm_content=1571108&ogmap=SHP|PLA|GOOG|STND|c|SITEWIDE|OOT|PressureWashers|{adgroup}||168639356|8715915596&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=168639356&gbraid=0AAAAADpPfbNy489Lp1QNPESdhCjyt6Hi-&gclid=CjwKCAjwhe3OBhABEiwA6392zKaxVQ-vQfX24bQRZe20bE2DkoO7yCvLjt69YchaJYRZnWam5HFTDBoCv1UQAvD_BwE

It's amazing. Previous to this I had their 30 amp 240V portable electric pressure washer, which I managed to kill somehow.

Ah, OK. I think it's hard to argue about better repairability when buying Chinese-made alphabet soup products. MEKOH? WTF?
That’s just a quick example I pulled from Amazon. With the Giraffe the whole machine is garbage if the reel breaks. With a diy, just the reel needs to be replaced

I bought the one at the top of your list on Ebay last year. Works great! Couple months in the hose gets a pin hole and leak. Contact seller, sent pics. No issue, they sent a replacement unit. Earlier this year same thing, leak in the hose. Send pics. Seller asked what PSI pressure washer I am using. 1600psi electric. No problem they sent another replacement unit. I gave up on this product and now have a new in the box item sitting in the shed. The hose construction is cheap and does not use NPT hose connections on the hose that connects to the unit so unable to use a standard replacement hose.

I am switching to a hand crank reel with a quality hose.

I have this hose real. It’s the first one pictured. It’s good quality. When you’re looking at hose reels something to consider is how the inlet hose connects to the reel. The black reel has a hose that runs through the frame. Some use the frame itself, like the blue one. With that style, the inside of the frame will rust overtime which can cause problems like clogged nozzles.

One day I would like to build a wall-mount system. I don't have water at the garage, so I'd have to drag the hose to it anyways. I was just going to buy one of those Northern Tool 220V pressure washers and mount it to the wall like some have done....but they are $1600 now. They used to be under $700 a few years ago (a 2500psi model IIRC). I can buy a lot of gas for my gas pressure washer for that. I'll have to stick with a Karacher and zip tie it to the wall :badteeth:

I don't use a pressure washer for washing my vehicles, but would use it on my trailers, skid steer, truck bed, the garage itself, etc...

Keep an eye on local classifieds. Right now the same pressure washer I have, the $1600 one from Northern tool, is listed in my area on Facebook for $450. I know that doesn’t help you but it’s just an example that they are out there. I got mine off craigslist for $650 1.5 years ago.

I don’t have water supply in my garage either, but I have a hose spigot out the side door of my garage about 12 feet from my pressure washer unit. I have a short garden hose with quick connects on both ends that makes hooking up water a few second deal.

Did you dilute the soap in the foam Canon bottle first?

I did a lot of research between the Active 2.0, McKillans HF1, and the Ryobi automotive. I ordered the Ryobi and the active wall mount and reel. Will try it out with the ryobi nozles and gun/ cannon. May update over time. Easy to justify with the coast of the Ryobi. I already have a nice 100ft hose to use on the active reel.
