Has anyone used these $16 Tsunoda / JDM flush cutters? That seems like a pretty good price !
The KBN150 model receives the greatest number of favorable review here, followed by the... smaller 125 model. (not sure on prefix)
See "Tools of Japan" thread
or search "flush cutter"

The low-end Klein model I thought was a piece of garbage. (see below)
I gave it to my buddy and he tossed it.

YMMV

after researching and watching bunch of youtube videos on how to modify and motorize a cheap bead roller, I came to a conclusion and bought this one:

I wanted a motorized bead roller with an adjustable shaft. There was one model that was slightly cheaper than this, but it had half the amount of dies and this allows to bead roll curved panels.

and.... what do you think?
I have one in my cart... I was waiting for them to tell me when it was available.

Out of the envelope, it's heavier than most of my other spinner handles, definitely handle heavy. The handle shape prevents rolling. The knurling is sharp. and forms two distinct spin zones for different grips or just rotating it with your thumb & index finger. I also think the knurling prevents it from being slippery when covered in coolant. Time will tell how durable the handle coating is. I like it. It's well made, nicely finished. I'll get the shorter version when it's back in stock.

It's the new stuff from Carlyle. I believe it said product of Cambodia and finished in China.

If I remember, I can get a picture of the back of the package when I go back to the garage.
Pretty odd the direction Carlyle went. Most of their stuff used to be Taiwan and no more lol. Not sure I’ve seen anything with their new label made in Taiwan

The local Napa store also had a pretty nice looking new Carlyle display... drawers with dividers for individual sockets or pieces of tooling.

Just swapped handles. Sure helps having the proper factory equipment.

Does Snap-On make those handle swappers with orange bases?

I wish the foam was orange instead of their corporate red.
But since this machine is no longer available, you have to get one when you can. There a few on Ebay that are new/near new for around $1000. Mine is used, but in good shape and the foam is not degraded and it came with an extra handle and fixture plate, all for less than half what most are going for on Ebay.

AH! I didn't know they were making two versions! I'd like to see if it will FIT into the blow-mold box that big 1/4" kit came in, to replace the cheesy plastic-handled model they put into it.

I am assuming it is THIS Sealey, yes?

Yes. I'm not good for much, but I am pretty good at observing trends and patterns, which inexplicably get registered to memory -
Overall, the Tsunoda models got more favorable reviews for "flush cutter" than other brands here, and the 150 seems to be the most popular - the other models function equally well, they're just different sizes.

Craftsman blacksmith's hammer, 3 lbs. 6.8 oz. So, 3 lb?

Paid just a bit more than the $12 Harbor Freight one ($15) for this one at a local antiques store. I'm thinking '70s or later since it has "WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES" on it.

I've slowly been changing out my go-to shop hammers from 2 lb. ball peen to blacksmith's hammers; and I've just never been impressed by the finish, handles, or steel of the Harbor Freight ones.

There's a semi-legible ink stamp on the handle.

Picked up my first welder last week during the HF sale. I am trying to get the hang of welding thinner exhaust Steel. Flux seems a little hotter than MIG. Now it's time to start Window shopping for a generator for a mobile setup.

I don’t own them, but I have used them.

Like all Tsunoda, but particularly their “King TTC“ line, faultless quality, and amazing value.

Yes, that is a good price. Partly due to the USD / Yen rate I suspect, but Tsunoda have always been insanely good value. My guess is that you are not paying much for advertising, the company don’t demand huge (and constantly increasing) profits, and all the tooling is paid for!

I opted for the similar KBN-150, which offer angled jaws and a gripping surface for tightening. Use them all the time now. Probably slightly prefer the smooth grips on the PN-150.

But hell, I could buy 5 pairs of Tsunoda PN-150 for the price of the Snap On equivalent, and I actually think the Tsunoda are the better tools.

After crossing the country 3x my brand-used 21/22mm kti wrench showed up to go under the knife (or chop saw in this case).

PXL_20260414_233448889.jpg

Not sold on the wrench holder though. Might have to come up with something else.
Need one of these.
