It is stunning how well this is going together. I have to assume it is not as easy as you are making it look. Your ability to visualize how you want it to come together combined with lots of careful planning and skill really make a project like this possible.

Outstanding!

This vehicle is unbelievable. My little brain can't comprehend doing something like this to this level of detail.

I've been driving the car quite a bit though I was having a problem. When at a steady speed it would lose speed and when I pushed down on the throttle it wouldn't speed up. I would have to let off and then on again and it would start to slow down again.

I finally told Google AI my problem and it mentioned the stop light switch could be the problem. I stock mustang tail lights (which it doesn't have) communicate with the BCM so the car was thinking the brakes were on all the time. I unplugged the switch and it now runs fine. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to make it cancel the cruise control. I have a lot of room in the wheel wells so I'm thinking of plugging in a pair of stock tail lights and mount them there.

Because of the BCM **** I could not get the brake lights to work off the stock brake switch. I had to lengthen the brake lines anyway so I installed a pressure switch on the right rear brake line which works great.

Here's a new Facebook link to a video of the car being started up and a little engine revving.

That's epic. I've owned two S550 Mustangs. My '19 Mustang GT was one of my favorite daily drivers ever. If it wasn't for COVID craziness and a dealer paying me more to buy it than I paid for it new - I'd probably still have it.

Is that a factory mount or did you have to fab something up ? I would have thought factory would have just been a lap belt.
This car is simply a 2016 Mustang with a 67 Fairlane body. There happened to be a hole in the Fairlane that was in the right place for the Mustang belts to mount. There was a larger square hole around four inches away. I welded an M10 nut to a piece of 1/8" plate, slid it into place and plug welded it to the Fairlanes inner structure.

I've got all the Mustang stuff working except the cruise control. Because I didn't use the Mustang tail lights the BCM thought the brakes were on all the time. The car would not run right. I ended up disconnecting the plug to the brake switch to make the car run1049.jpg. I put a pressure switch in the left rear brake line where I extended it to make the brake lights work. I'm going to order some stock Mustang tail lights and mount them in the outer trunk area and plug them in. Hopefully this will cure a my cruise control problem.

Sounds like you got lucky with the seat belt mount.

As a future project, do you think you could graft a stock Mustang tail light to a repo Fairlane light?

What is different about the mistake tail lights? Do you have wiring diagrams? Let’s see if we can help you simulate them. You have gone too far with This project not to. The car looks great!

I'm interested in the tail light dilemma also. I'm transplanting a '15 mustang into a '63 F100 using all the mustang components and want all the mustang operational features to work. I don't think the active cruise will work unless I can put the unit with clear line of sight but that will be difficult with all metal grill and bumper instead of plastic.

The Adaptive cruise usually uses a windshield mounted camera. Are you sure it's in the grill?

I shouldn't have just said camera, but the sensor is in the windshield for many cars
The adaptive cruise doesn't work on the 2 vehicles I have had with it, if the radar sensor is covered with snow.

The VW sensor was down low and the Honda has it behind the grille emblem.

Neither have figured out how to keep the sensor warm enough to keep snow/slush from sticking to it.

I did a quick Google, and the Honda also uses the camera somehow.

I actually ordered some Mustang taillights earlier and they’re huge. The only way to take them apart is to warm them up on an oven. I sent them back though I ordered them again and plan on storing them away in the trunk.

Pretty sure the taillights have a circuit board in them and the BCM communicates with them.
