Unfortunately for me, stopping is either sleep or office work, I prefer sleep, but

I am dealing with my Dad's 1 D 10 T contractor with fixing the house at the Hill so it can be rented to someone other than me, he told me on Friday about 2 months before they can start and he would give me a week before they are ready. Sunday he says he can start this week, so I have to fit into my already full schedule cleaning out the house completely so they can do demo, going to be a late night. I had to rip out three hours yesterday to get the beams for the basement and I have to reroute some plumbing on Wednesday so they can add the new beams. I haven't exactly been happy about this and there is a lot of stuff that I do not have a place for right now since I didn't get a week's notice. Then this morning the contractor doesn't show up, but his guys are literally waiting inside the house. I don't know what is going on, they are asking me if they can use some of the "junk" styrofoam in the shed, I am thinking WTF are you doing in the shed??? Then I am trying to figure out what "junk" styrofoam is in there, nope, it is a full sheet of 2" and half a sheet of 2". I told them not to touch anything in the shed and they should bring their own stuff. They removed stuff from the basement and just "stacked" it on top of all kinds of expensive stuff in the garage, I effing hate this type of ****. I have to go and get checks signed, fix my Dad's WiFi and drop a load off at the Salvage Garage, then grab another trailer and bring it to the Hill. Supposed to start raining in a few hours, so I will not be able to bring multiple loads tonight, just going to have to box what I can and move some to the quonset hut for now. Also just so you know it is 255 days until Christmas.

I will say that unloading a truck after hours is much quieter using an electric forklift! I am glad I went back to the Salvage Garage tonight to unload, Fed Ex had stacked nine boxes in front of my door and it was going to rain overnight. Got everything unloaded and broke down all the boxes, tomorrow is the auction…

This contractor of my Dad's is killing me, they ripped down the one ceiling that was new drywall, they used 12" sonotubes to put 12" x 5.5" beams on, I show up "first thing" to meet with the guy, he shows up at 8:30, no one else is here, I am trying to pack up stuff to get it out of the way and then he tells me they won't be back until Monday. Efff off! I have things to do today and I just spent my morning doing something very unimportant...

If I didn't show up, that isn't me.

My Brother isn't "paid" to do this.

The 1 D 10 T contractor who just hires random people to do the work is the one that is supposed to tell them what, when, and where. I was not there when they did what they did. Contractor assures me that it was in the "quote" and I should be able to clearly see it, except his quote was through text and did not specify anything, but it was approved by Dad...

I am way late in watching this thread.

Are you running a salvage operation where you resell industrial equipment?

I see lots of neat stuff coming in, not getting used, nor ever appearing to be sold......
I don’t sell much, I am a bit slow on dealing with things, but it will eventually get used or sold.

We need some more info on the laser welder!! Is the chiller for the welder?
It is a CNC laser setup, 2 heads, but it is for small stuff. I think it is 80 watt, might be nothing useful to me or it might be. Now I have both a CNC laser mill and laser welder, so I can cut and weld tiny things!

The only trailer I have that would load a dead forklift is leaking hydraulic fluid so bad it costs about $50 every time I open the tail. This trailer was $125 to rent for the weekend and I did two pickups and moved another forklift to the Quonset hut. I was also driving the pickup instead of Perk, so fuel savings too.

It is cold enough still that it has been spitting snow, looks like the next few days are going to be pretty chilly.

I see a new-to-you trailer in your future.

I do think it would be a handy setup, but I would prefer to have one that drops essentially to the ground flat and it needs to be able to lift and carry more like 7 tons. I think that would be the sweet spot for forklifts, anything bigger than that would be Perk and the Muv-All anyways. I do think that my dad needs one like the one I rented for his skid steer/mower/tractor. I will probably sell my deckover tilt trailer and just get a fixed deck, I just don’t use the tilt, it is so steep being that it is over the wheels instead of between them. I would love to build a ramp trailer that is hydraulic, like a ramp/roll back truck, that would be very nice for moving regular vehicles, it would actually have a lower tilt angle being in a trailer versus a truck too.

I wish I had more time today, but I have other things to deal with, Salvage Garage is getting more space and some organization along the way. I hope to have room for everything before next week. I am supposed to pick up another machine this week and the trailer is still loaded! I figure the CNC laser is going to have to be stood on its side in order to make things fit. The other option is to find a box trailer and use it for the time being.
