Went out this morning to snag this Gem. This is a pretty sweet set made in Japan. I use to crack on these back when they came out, but honestly, these are very nice. By weight alone, you can feel it isn’t the ultra cheap **** you got years later. Ten Dollar Bill, and worth every penny ….. K-Mart Auto….👍

I miss K-mart
+1 on that. When I acquired my 1st car in the late 70's, K-mart was my tool supplier. I bought Irwin screw drivers, metric combination wrenches (Taiwan), and others for reasonable prices and the quality was really good. It was all Japan or Taiwan made. I find most stuff made in that time period from those countries was quality made stuff.

I just got both of these for $15, just because. The 45 is spring loaded and works. The mark ll is co2. Guy said it works, I'll find out when I get some cartridges. You would swear the mark ll is a real pistol.

1 market place deal today, no sales. I saw an add for some metric Snap-on sockets and ratchet. Some pretty good stuff in there once I sorted it out. Here’s what I got for a $100

1/4” swivel set with the black ring, 9mm is replaced
3/8” swivel set with some replacements
Almost complete 3/8” drive 6 point set with the black ring
Deep 1/4” set with black ring
Shallow 1/4” 6 pack
3 wobble and 3 regular extensions all 3/8”
3/8 swivel adapter
3/8 ratchet
Then some misc. singles
All metric and all 6 point

Been an extremely busy few weeks picking stuff. Hit up a Garage sale last Sat and it was loaded. Family cleaning out Dads tools and everything was in flats priced at $5 -$7 . The Union protractor & blade were $2, the Starrett feelers were a buck as well as the Craftsman thread cleaners. The little black box full of ignition tools was another $2.. After sorting and cleaning I put together a few sets and had plenty of other partial sets. Cornwell 1/2 deeps, Wright 3/8 drive, Tru- Test metric set, Action 77 1/2 drive, Craftsman bit set w/ 3 Clutch…. Other groups of Bonney, Plomb, Easco, Firestone, JC Penney, Thorson, New Brittan. Next stop was a pick up of a Mitutoyo 0-1 for $10… then today I found another sale and packaged three calipers for $6 ea. The 500-216 Mitutoyos needed a battery….The verniers are very nice and the Japan Peacocks aren't bad… Enjoy!

My finds yesterday, one TOO, one planned stop. The TOO was a guy who built the front entertainment area on front of his house, so guessing contractor, moving to Australia. So lots of big 120v tools, two roto hammers, a sawzall, ShopVac, etc. that will do him no good down under. Grabbed a WorkSharp 3000, made in 2020. Just the motor and glass disk w two different abrasive grits. All parts are retired, so will need to improvise.

The planned was a charity rummage sale, had been decent in the past. Found a mixed set of socket rails, for the price I was pleased with the two plastic ones. Other goodies for the house took up many times what I spent there.

Got this tap & die set, which I have already had for years but the case disappeared, and this Packard radiator cover for $17 and $30, respectively

***** - if only for Volume alone!
It’s a honey hole for sure. This was my second visit. First was back in the fall. They keep cleaning out the hoard and setting up sales. First haul was a boat load of Proto. I just missed a killer Blackhawk chest that went out west. The seller was surprised someone would pay 5 times the cost to ship it….I’d have probably paid more… lol. This fall there will be more.

I got a box
Rockaway Metal Products Co. box 041926 01.jpg
manufactured by Rockaway Metal Products, Rockaway Metal Products Corp., 175 Roger Ave., Inwood, NY 11696
The company was only in operation from 1961 to about 1987. The site became a major SuperFund clean-up site.
It did come with one key.
They were having a 20% off sale, so I found some more treasures:
I filled it with a little 5246 Craftsman 3-inch clamp-on bench vise which appears to have never been used
and an old "Bisquick" recipe box, which is obviously rather old considering it says "Use Milk OR Water" to mix it up.
and a Lawson Industries (no, this is a different Lawson) "Universal Drain Tool" (patent 6505532)

I left behind the Ideal 35-781 "Nickless" cable cutting tool
I'd have loved to have brought one of those fabulous fabrication tables home with me, but I simply don't have the space.

Here is my haul from the weekend. I hit a few ES, GS, and a couple of antique stores. The wife loves looking for her Pyrex, so we made a day of it. I did not find a big haul at any one location, just found a few items at each of the ES and GS. Most of the tools that I find at antique stores a pretty pricey. I picked up 5 Hallowell sockets. Anyone know anything about the brand. Best I could tell from searches on line, that they were made in Canada? I only got them because never heard of the brand. 😂 here is what I got spent $40.

Between the time of fixing dinner and eating dinner an ad popped up on FBM. I couldn't resist, whats a little more sorting and cleaning and stacking in an overflowing garage.

How much. I see at least one metric Snap-on socket and one Snap-on wobble extension. I also see one of those weird Craftsman ratchet with the knob.

Ok yesterday's seller contacted me that he had another box to sell. I met with him today and picked it up. The second(white) box was a FBMP buy from a couple downsizing into a condo. I'm still sorting yesterday's purchases and now the truck is full again.

Nicely done Alinc. A lot of Snap-On in there.

I hit up a Habitat store on lunch today. Found a few things including a nice Leatherman, and a basin wrench with a name that’s unknown to me. The most interesting find though was a non-tool item.

I apologize for the at dusk outdoor photos.

-Craftsman and Proto tappet wrenches
-Williams dbe
-Fairmount combo
-Cal-Van bleeder wrench
-Dur-Key basin wrench
-Ace and Rosco stubby drivers
-SP ??? USA made 83250 knurled punch looking mystery tool
-Bridgeport clutch tip driver
-Leatherman multitool
-Victorinox Swiss made small pocket knife

And this interesting brass with wood sides, red felt lined small mystery box. It has this really nice sort of embossed top.

Will serve as a good jewelry box, but I’m not sure what it really is. No latch. Looks like some type of gift or presentation piece. Not super heavy built and doesn’t strike me as too old.

The company and graphics though, too cool to leave behind.

Why something would have 11 names engraved though, who knows. Perhaps a gift to the whole department?

IAI, Israel Aircraft Industries LTD

Pretty unique, and relevant to the current times.

We headed to San Leandro this morning to a sale put on by a favorite estate sale company, the Tie Dye people. Great people but unfortunately no tools to speak of. After looking thoroughly we found some nice little Visegrips and an empty DeWalt drill bit set box. IMG_8166.jpegIMG_8167.jpegIMG_8168.jpeg
After that disappointing experience we headed across the San Rafael bridge to a family run living estate sale in Novato. The greeter at that sale was the owner’s 22 yr old Chihuahua, definitely a senior citizen in dog years. Sorry, no pictures. We did find a few tools though. IMG_8170.jpegI liked the Snap-on screwdriver although the warning on the handle had been ignored.IMG_8172.jpeg
The tin snips were Powr-Kraft, decent Channellocks and some additions to my Rosco screwdriver collection.IMG_8170.jpeg
Cleaned up the Rosco drivers.IMG_8185.jpeg
Added some of the bits from yesterday’s sale and finished filling the DeWalt box from my sharpened spares. IMG_8186.jpeg-Don
I forgot about a TOO in Novato, down the street from the family estate sale. There were two tools on a table, both large combos. One was Chinesium and the other was this new looking 1” 44705 combo. It still had traces of the original label which I removed yesterday.IMG_8229.jpegIMG_8230.jpeg

MrsLS had a day off from work, which allowed for a brief visit to the Wednesday Leesport PA flea market. $10 spent in light rain to a less-than-half-full field netted a late-1930s Bonney S012 screwdriver that a PO had reprofiled into a blunt chisel, a Bonney 1/2dr 1/2” socket from the (I think) Cooper Industries era, an Indestro 1/4dr spinner, an overly-sanded Weintraut Newark No7 dividers, a Craftsman hex-shank drill set with no drills, a handful of woodscrew countersink bits, and an ornate iron handrail support to replace a broken potmetal one (shown) from LesserDaughter1’s house.
Then we had burgers, fries and beers at Port Clinton Hotel, where the bartender tipped us off to another Wednesday flea at Hometown Market. Maybe next week. On the way home, we saw signs for the Cetronia community yard sale this weekend.

OK I combined my two purchases from the same guy. Just finished sorting and inventorying. I didn't include the misc, loose items as of yet. I still have my second pick of the day yesterday to get out of the truck to BEGIN sorting. Good news is both of the empty 9 drawer Craftsman Homeowner boxes will be gone tonight.
