I just finished putting up shelves for some of my old boom box radios. As most of you know, we left Arizona a little over a year ago due to higher costs. I had to settle for a smaller garage here but I am making the best of it. Floors are epoxied, walls and ceilings have been made smooth (no texture) and painted over the winter. Cabinets went in a couple of weeks ago and there will be another one to fill the space on the back wall. It was an oversight on the company but it's all good. As typical, I put down commercial carpet to keep the tires from marking the floors. This is much easier to vacuum than wash off. Also gives it a homey feeling. TV was an old unit that sat in a closet taking space. It's been put to good use with HDMI and RCA plug connections under the bench. I can hook up my old VCR's to it. I used to own a bus and tinkered with that but the costs have made it a luxury toy I could no longer afford nor has my memory been good over the past couple years. For now I play with radios and old stuff. About the only wrenching I do is spark plugs and simple stuff on the vehicles.

All of them work except the GE radio’s cassette deck. It’s a complex servo drive design. I won’t bother getting that one to work. One is cassette and 8-track on the side. I have tons of new blank tapes including new 8-tracks. Two of the radios have a turn table that rolls out! Both of those work too.

Beautiful, I was thinking that was a JVC DC-7 but it's something else, maybe the SG-J800? I've got several of the big TT boomboxes but not the SG-J800. The big Sharp takes the prize but the more horizontal JVC still weighs a ton.

That is a tidy garage! My question is how do you clean those carpets?

Wow! What a pristine place. You are off to a bangin start. And I love seeing the boombox collection. It is so cool to see such eclectic interests influence the direction of a garage like this.
