Hi all, I'm new here but wanted to spread the word...

I recently picked up a Ridgid DP15000, from the early 2000s, floor stand drill press on the cheap.

It had some issues: the rack was broken, attached with hose clamps and the chuck was frozen.

I set out to find Ridgid replacement parts (all discontinued). I went over to Harbor Freight and measured the rack on some of their 2025 floor model drill presses. One was VERY close, like in the 0.010" difference in one dimension. I knew they sold spare parts so I looked at their website. Sure enough they had a rack available and I took a chance, about $14.00 free shipping.

Sure enough a perfect replacement part fit.

Below is the info I used to find the parts I needed

=====================================================================

Ridgid PD15000 / Harbor Freight #43389 (UPC 793263433891) parts compatibility.

This is the webpage for the parts list

https://www.harborfreight.com/parts...&sku=43389&q=43389&upc=792363433891&current=1
  1. If this link does not work in the future Google "Harbor Freight parts"
  2. That will find the "Harbor Freight Replacement Parts" page
  3. Choose the "Power Tools" icon
  4. Choose the "Drills, Drivers & Drill Presses" icon
  5. Choose the "Drill Presses" icon
  6. Choose the "17" 16 speed drill press"
  7. In the "Choose Item/UPC Number" drop down choose "43389-UPC 793263433891"
  8. there is a list of available parts.
  9. Alternately in the search box on the main "Replacement Parts" page, enter "43389"

What I know fits (I bought them)
Rack #27163
Arbor #27818 (#2 Morris to #3 Jacobs)
Chuck #26613 (#3 Jacobs taper, Jacobs style 5/8" max ID jaws)
Chuck Key #26614

All this was $54.00 FREE shipping (and fast)

If anyone else buys parts, not on my list, please add the parts you bought (name and part number) and compatibility

I hope this info helps others.

honestly man i'd just hit up ridgid's website or call their customer service. they're pretty good about having parts in stock. my old man had one of those and needed a new chuck after like 10 years, took like a week to get here. not really a jeep thing so can't help much but yeah parts shouldn't be hard to find for those
Apparently you missed the part where he tried and the parts were discontinued!

I swear most of these drill presses all come out of the same factory in China! You can look at one brand and then another and the main castings are often the same, just some of the switch pods, and other small parts and paint are different.

I looked all over the internet, eBay, ridgid's website and nothing. I usually don't call if there is nothing on the website figuring the CS rep will be looking at the same info I can see.

I agree, that's what gave me the idea to look at harbor freight. I had one of their drill presses 30 years ago and this newer Ridgid one looked just like it.

I upgraded my Taiwan Drill Press with a Jacob’s Chuck and generic M2, Jacob’s 3 spindle.
I have more confidence in tools from our friends in Taipan than tools from China

I restored a 20" Taiwanese floor model drill press. Like yours, it had a rack and worm/pinion to adjust table height. The pinion gear and worm were badly worn. I found the same drill press made by Jet (mine was imported by Foremost) and downloaded the manual. I found the part numbers and ordered the parts from the Jet parts network. When they came they fit perfectly. Jet and Grizzly have parts support. As you mentioned, so does Harbor Freight.

I think it's worth a try to get parts this way. It certainly worked for me.
