What am I missing here? This socket has a 5/8 and 13/16 end (6 points on either end). Am I missing a piece?

I call those flip-flop sockets that you need to use an extension with, for the corresponding drive size that is (probably) in the middle of the socket.

Bonney used to make one similar to that with those sizes, #T2026. It was a sparkplug socket and had a rubber insert with a 1/2 female drive offset to each side. It was designed to use a separate drive plug, #T2026-1.
I always thought this was a great design.

Many years ago I was actively searching for one on eBay to put in a OPE kit I needed for work. I finally gave up and moved on.
One similar here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/397859567412

The only thing I see missing in the original post is the ability to focus.

5/8 lug nuts?
I thought the same thing. I have never had anything with 5/8” lugnuts. I googled it, though, and they exist. Maybe they are for something smaller than cars (motorcycles, trailers…).

I picked one of these up recently with the piece you are missing. It appears in theory that it allows you to use a wrench,3/8" ratchet, flipping sizes/flipping the insert. And my thought it is for spark plugs.

Does that have a rubber insert in the middle to hold the spark plug?
