This was in a tool box I purchased, curious what it is, feel like I have seen this before. About 8" long, plastic, tapers nearly to a point on both ends, one end split, thinner than a pencil. I know it is a tool because the logo Cooper Tools. Any clue what this is?

It's made for television repair. Being plastic, it is non-conductive, so safer to use around the high voltages present on a CRT board, and also because it is non-ferrous, it doesn't affect the adjustable components you'd use it to tweak.

Appreciate the knowledge Old Man Roger.

Being more a handy electrician than a electronics engineer, it's the thing that helps you do things when working on electronics. I guess I probably have seen this before having several soldering irons.

Best description I found in a weller manual, soldering aid tool.

Then there is this.

Techni-Pro 758SO045 Cone-shaped tip Length 150mmOverall length:5.9'ESD plastic probes and spatulas Carbon peek material Plastic Probe PEEK, Cone-Shaped Tip & Flat Strong Tip Chisel-Shape, ESD The Carbon PEEK Plastic Techni-Pro 758SO045 probe can be used to scrape delicate parts. The MPT1RCP is an auxiliary tool for soldering, inspecting, and gluing that has a double-tipped, rounded body. Small working spaces are accessible because of the pointed tip. The probe has outstanding high-temperature resistance along with ESD and non-scratching characteristics thanks to the Carbon Fiber reinforced ESD PEEK Plastic.

I'll throw it in my solder drawer, maybe probe something or save finger tip from getting burned.
