Today, in front of the garage, my JD 330 Garden Tractor got...
A new transmission filter and 5 quarts of Type F transmission fluid...
All the ball joints and king pins got greased...
I also gave it a pressure wash...

I'd have mounted the SW low, facing backwards. Deep bass should be more "ambient".
Meh, that’s just the way that box fits best, . I hadn’t actually planned on putting it in the truck, was just going to toss it in the trunk of the Buick but it happened to fit on those seat brackets nicely lol.

Laid down another 3 gallons of weed poison with a Solo backpack sprayer then knocked off to get my **** ready for tomorrow's Coleman meet-up.

Cleaned my "air filter" after last Saturday's dusty road:

Gotta get a real air filter for the Brick. Filter is sitting on a fan to dry out faster. I bought the last can of K&N filter oil in the county to make it work again--as well as it can.

Cleaned up this lot:

55258214595_f00da160e6_o.jpg

that I'm hoping to sell. I need to look up some values for the Girl Scout hatchet.

Stuff to sell and stuff to trade, plus my camping gear:

Stowed and secured.

55256920892_3bfa32deea_o.jpg

all loaded up and ready to roll.

I ran by Safeway for some last-minute supplies--and walked right out again when I saw the lines. I can stock up in the morning or when I get to Asotin.

Meet starts at eleven, with an hour and a half drive (long and winding road), so if I leave by eight I'll be fine. I'll be camping at either Hell's Gate state park in Lewiston, where the meet is, or, better yet, Field Springs state park about a half hour away in Washington. Depends on the weather--Hell's Gate is at 800' ASL and Field Springs at ~4,000', on the edge of Hell's Canyon. I've been wanting to give Field Springs a good check-out for a while, so might stay a day or two.

Field Springs is also half the price of Hell's Gate, and doesn't feel like a gated community.

Second boat fender is off. Same mess as the other side. I have it in primer too. Im going to put the wheels back on it and pull it out. The job made quite the mess I want to clean up before I move forward.

Milwaukee M12 dremel style rotary tool with a cutting wheel has earned its keep as has the M12 90 degree drill.

!0 Ga.? Edit: Maybe not,, roiling block bull barrel?
It is an AYDT system falling block with a serious bull barrel, but no iron sight provisions. Which is weird, as German target rifles had serious sights, but this only has a Redfield scope mount. It is slathered in Cosmoline of some sort, which didn't really help it, as there are rust issues. Like I said, I need to do a chamber cast to figure out what caliber it is, and it is going to be some weird German metric thing, as the standard crossover chamberings don't match up.

In any case, there are no markings on it other than the proof stamps, which tell me it was made between 1912 and 1939. No maker, no caliber, nothing. Which is not uncommon for a Guild Gun, but is challenging.

EDIT: this would be a whole lot easier if there wasn't one stock screw putting up a hell of a fight.

Do rock lights actually have a practical use, or are they just bling?

Very handy if you do a night rock crawl run. a very different experience. ( done a little of that in an unplanned not organized way... but there are organized events.)
Exactly. Plus I plan for my 2012 Ram3500 plus both of my trailers will have similar lights as people seem to drive stupider after dark so I rather see and be seen.

Cut this old rusty (went through rust remover obviously) C clamp for a custom welding hold down. Kind of felt bad cutting it as it was just rusty, not damaged in any way, but a forged body is necessary due to tig welding. I look at it like I'm giving it a new life. Plays into my enjoyment of repurposing, customizing, and restoring.

The clamp was made between 1962 and 1964. I can tell this because the swivel pad has pat applied for which when looked up was 1962 and it was then granted 2 years later.

Part deux today...
Cleanup on the JD mower deck...
Lots of grass buildup (I hate it when I have to mow the grass when it's wet)...
IMG_5531.jpg

More stuff...

IMG_5530.jpg

I inherited an old power washer from my FI when he passed away...
It's one of my most appreciated tools in my garage... Makes life so much easier...
IMG_5532.jpg

Found one of the spindle bearings a little crunchy... I'll have to tear into it before I put everything back together...

Years ago (before 2015) I used to have an older riding mower model MTD YardMachine (purchased from MonkeyWards (a.k.a. Montgomery Wards)...remember them?) that I would have to lift up to clean under the deck after each mowing session, etc. and that alone became tiresome. I had that mower since 1997 when we first moved to our property (1.3 ac.) and well used it till it was on it's last wheel.

Got rid of it back in 2015 and right after that, I purchased a Hustler Raptor Flip Up and never looked back and have it to this very day.......was one of the very best decisions I've ever made in my life! Now after each time cutting the grass, I no longer have to **** around with lifting the entire mower, etc., etc., etc..... I just park it, Flip Up the deck to have access to the underside of the deck, makes cleaning so much easier and convenient, etc....also makes for changing the blades so much hassle free and quick! (y)

That’s not up to par with @MP&C quality….
Well the hammer is pitted pretty bad just learning technique on something that I'm ok with junking.

Also I'm working with dremel and sanding by hand. Would like to have a conditioning belt like the English gent in video Mr. Tool posted.

Barely made it out to the garage today. Rained all day, spent most of it cleaning and organizing the basement. The shoe bracket for my ladder was delivered - went out to the garage just to check that. Looks like a good fit so I'll put that on tomorrow along with some new rope.

Made more progress on the boat trailer and fenders than I expected to today. Finish coat is on the trailer, carpet removed from the fenders drilled the fenders to match the new hardware, snagged the SS hardware today from my local Ace. The carpet came off pretty easy and in once piece, it will make for a decent template for the restoration. Learned a bit about the trim, seems to be held on with 3m 2 sided tape and SS screws. I did some additional wiring repairs to get rid of the quick wire splice clamps ( They have caused previous issues, obviously) and replaced them with marine heat shrink connectors.

assembled and test operated the 5 gallon dust collector i purchased from\\\\\\\\\ Harbor Freight for $40, it is powered by my big vacuum cleaner. The cleaner is very noisy, but it has served me well since the late’70s when I bought it from Sears in Honolulu.

I ran out of shelf space so I decided it was time to hang my hardware storage. Yes, I'll need a ladder to get in the top but there is a ladder there all the time anyway. Now to organize and label them. There is more than this too. I may get around to hanging them one day.

I also made the pigtail for my welder permanent thing instead of just hanging out the front of the breaker box. At least now I can put the cover back on! A little safer anyway.

Started cutting the stack of 50 six foot fence Cedar fence pickets into 36" lengths.
i will be building another batch of raised bed planter boxes, they will be 36 X 18 inches, so will be cutting all the pockets into 36" lengths and will resaw some of those into the required number of 18" lengths

i plan to complete this before Tuesday when I will be hiring a 20 year old kid to help me and learn how he can also build boxes and move towards financial independence

And you even cut finger slots in the foam! Not many people think of that......

Nice work!
Finger grips are a MUST when shadowing tools!!! I have a 3/4" round tip on the end of a hot knife that I use for doing all my finger grips and for also smoothing out foam when not cutting full depth.

It makes making them quick and consistent.

Long nose sharpies are also a MUST for anyone that shadows their tooling.
