I did absolutely nothing in the shop today - walleye and small mouth bass fishing on the Columbia River today with my neighbor: 4 nice walleye and 8 bass, 4 of which were 17”. My buddy caught a 12 lb walleye 2 weeks ago at this area

In the shop yesterday, I modified and installed a Barrel-to-Magazine Tube clamp on the Henry.
IMG_3836.jpeg

Earlier last month, I purchased a shorted magazine inner tube.
I then shortened the outer mag tube to accept the shorted inner tube. This is so that when sliding the inner tube to reload or removing it completely, it will clear the suppressor.

I lost capacity by 6-rounds, but I'm not going to war with a pea-shooter. ;)

Our last trip we took a couple big rocks into the grill. Stopped by my local paint guy. Gentleman said $300 to fix, paint and clear. He did complain a little on how much work it would be getting the grill off. Made the appointment and thought about it. I believe I would feel better with my truck in my garage, drop grill off tomorrow. I’m sure he will be happy. IMG_0324.jpegIMG_0326.jpegIMG_0327.jpeg

I finally got a full day and night away from the shop! Drove to Lewiston, ID, to meet with some Coleman collectors. I was hoping to unload some of my overstock, but only the ********* showed up--who didn't need much of anything I had. Unloaded one lantern and a while-elephant of a Kamp Kook 2-burner stove. Didn't pay for even a third of my gas for the trip.

I'll post a short video of the most interesting part of the trip--crossing the Grande Ronde canyon via the Rattlesnake and Buford grades. Is a Vanagon a sports car? Do I care? I'll put the link to the vid in my Vanagon project thread (sig) when I get it edited and posted to YT--so no sooner than tomorrow.

Now to unload all the camping **** from the Brick....

Carefully peeled back the rubber non slip step pads to reveal the last of the hardware on the trailer fenders. Thye will get put back after new carpet and after installation, it will be the last step. I have some cleaning to do...

I've decided that this:

55261455101_80ac3a7215_o.jpg

beats hell out of surfing the internet and watching YT videos. I'm reading an e-reader book, with no wifi connection. Reading and staring at the flames while listening to the breeze sighing through the trees aren't a bad way at all to spend an evening.

Nope, you have the right idea there. Pull up a seat in front of a campfire and relax. Best idea ever.

Welp I was not even supposed to be in the garage today (since it's Mother's Day)... however Mama had the idea that we should do some freebie estate-sale shopping. So I spent a little time with lubricants, degreaser and red shop rags cleaning and servicing some "new to me" equipment, whilst pulling out the pellet smoker and getting it ready for rib - smoking for her dinner.
Who am I to argue?

Spent some time working on the wife's wagon in the garage today. Fix the nonworking high beam headlights, thought it was a bad dimmer switch, there is only one bulb per headlight and the regular beams worked but when switched to high they both went off... Turned out that both highbeams were bad! Couple new bulbs and all is well.

I also repaired two windows that weren't going up/down properly.
Drivers door got two replacement rollers for the track and white lithium on there and also spayed the side channels heavily with the white lithium. The glass wasn't slidling smoothly through a section and going crooked and not closing properly. Window now goes up and down nicely.
Passanger rear had two broken sliders in the track, so it got two new rollers and white lithium lube. Operates smoothly now.

Down here in Southern Louisiana, my garage gets pretty warm. I have a small workshop/sink in the rear. Only one window, no entry door. I've been using floor fans and one perched in the open window (hurricane shutter on the other side, so minimal effect). A local guy had a Hunter 18" Jetstream ceiling fan for $100. I googled the fan and saw a member here had one. (@Kevin_Rivfly) He gave it a thumbs up after 20 years. I just installed it and it looks like the perfect solution. Off the floor and out of the way. Swivels to either side and the rear, really moves some air. It converts to a floor fan,but it's unlikely I'll ever use it in that capacity.

I set my drone spray tender on the back of Walter and picked the drone up with the jib crane.
IMG_6423.jpeg

It picked it up without issue. Pretty slick little Klutch battery powered hoist.

I’m thinking it’ll all ride sort of like this when I’m actually out and about using it. The plan is to fly some fields next week one day already.

Pretty day here ans dot shop time. Installed a spare carrier and tongue jack on the trailer, will need rework as the squarish spare carrier hits the back of the rim. Then finalized the print for the trike chain guard, ready to clean up the design and off to SCS. Turned the handle around on the seat cart as the seat and handle latch were connecting, so they don't anymore.

Kept plugging away on wiring the '73 Mustang project and washed four of the cars. Nothing much to share photos of, except for this: I needed to place a "Overdrive Off" button somewhere in the Mustang. Decided to hide it in the ashtray. While I was there, I figured I'd place a second switch for future expansion purposes.

I have a duramax at 4 (1500 though). I had all the dreaded paint peeling on the grille that everyone seems to get. Instead of refinishing it, I just purchased a blacked out Denali version to replace it. You aren't kidding, removing trim on these vehicles is not for the faint of heart. I broke a couple clips, but luckily they are very cheap on amazon after you find the correct part number.

When we had land cleared for a new church, they brought in one of these chippers:

We'd used a Vemeer 1500 (150ish hp) several times prior to this, but this was a whole different level.
Had one of those in use across the street from us last summer when they were clearing property for a church. We also see them in use for hurricane cleanup duty around here.

Just the usual **** today. Replaced a commercial kitchen toaster cord as it was overheating at the plug end. I've already replaced the sketchy-looking outlet for it, so this is the last bet before replacing the toaster. It's been running for three hours now without overheating.

Did some other ****, but can't recall what it was.
