Howdy all, I did a search and a few responses came on a thread in 2022, but nothing more recently (that I have found). Has anyone lined all or a good portion of their interior walls with planks/other wood options? If so, how's it working out? Please share your photos for ideas! Thanks in advance

Wouldn't use anything but wood - love it! 1x12 in this picture.

hell yeah! What species did you use? any thoughts on vertical vs horizontal? I take it your were just working with random lengths....?
Just regular old pine in 16' lengths.

Nailed most of it - screwed the bottom, middle and top rows with trim screws so I can remove and fish a wire wires in the future. I think horizontal looks better, plus it's easier to stack and go.

When I put it up, I did have little 4x4 squares of tar paper i'd tuck behind the 1x12 to cover the stud. Was worried when it gets cold the wood would shrink and expose the studs but it never happened. Cheap to add and cost basically nothing.

These are solid core, maple veneer sliding closet doors from a dorm remodel. Each is 22" wide x 92" tall and weighs 60 lbs. The door hardware attachments points were only on the top and bottom edges, and a metal insert for the pull. The non "pull side" was placed outward. I bought 90 of them for $1 each. They are resting on a 2x4 PT baseboard. The countertops are made from the same.

And, no, the shop is not this empty anymore!

My building has metal walls and ceiling but I built a tool and storage room with a urinal in one corner.

Keeps stuff organized, the water heater and plumbing out of sight and cuts down on compressor noise in the rest of the shop.

I used paneling and galvanized panels from Menards.

The galvanized panels were new and shiny. I aged and rusted them with peroxide and acid. I wish now, I'd shot some holes in them.

The lights are brass running lights off an old Great Lakes Steamer. If the red one is on, the tool battery chargers are energized. If the green one is on, the air compressor is energized.

LOVE it!

.......but I admit that the curved hose mixed with all the straight, uber neat vertical lines messes with my OCD. Wouldn't the system work just as well with 90* elbows to make a straight line feeding the cooling lines?

Still, a very nice installation. Congrats.

The curves are my Yin to my Yang - Fungi Shui ....lol

Actually, I never thought about that until now. Now I have to re-plumb it...lol

Leftover from the Sauna changing room project. White birch T&G.

Not sure where to put it, though. It’s stacked in front of the two post lift, looking for a home. Not enough to do a complete wall, but might cover the outside of the boiler room, and then some.

The shelves are 18” deep.

I apologize for the walls not being the subject of these photos, but it’s all I have at the moment. The wall separating the sides of my shop is all recycled pallets. You can see it in the background.

Took about 80 pallets to do the whole wall. They’re nailed to painted black OSB over 2x6 framing and insulated. About all I had into it was labor. I don’t mind the look or the price.

You don't want to see mine. Trust me it's horrible dank '70s **** that somebody put over the 5/8 drywall on the shared walls. It will be going away when I have room to move things out of the way.
