I finally found an 8mm wrench more expensive than Snap-on
Before I clicked, I fully expected this to be about a VIM wrench. Then posts Snap-On
I was thinking Wurth. Before I clicked, I fully expected this to be about a VIM wrench.
True. Had this with a co-worker not long ago. Was telling him about something work related and since he was sitting at his pc I told him to go to a specific online vendor. He then proceeded to open Google so I told him to just type the address directly in the browser. The guy was irritated and probably thinks now I'm some kind of hacker.A lot of people do not know how large the internet actually is. I see it alot with instagram users. It seems like the majority of my instagram customers are not even aware of the rest of the internet. What is a web site? If it isnt a phone app it must not exist.
I really don't get the recent hype about Würth. Sure their tools are nice, but nothing to write home about it.I was thinking Wurth.

Wurth wrenches are taiwan made, last thing that wurth sold and was rebranded facom was back in 2001 and it was a 1/4 drive ratchet. Wurth wrenches...i think of lobster claw and peeling chrome.Wurth wrenches are a step above in using them. The material dose not spread in an open end and the fit is more precise to hardware. Which makes them bad for gummed up bolts.
The rest of the line is rebrand from Facom, other euro brands that is good stuff but cheaper in.oyher brands.
I made an exception for the wrenches. The sockets kinda ****, the rest can be ground cheaper.
Guess you can't fish those out with a magnet lol. Makes me wonder what other crazy tools are out there that most guys never heard ofWelcome to my (former) world... You hopefully don't forget tools at the jobsite, or worse, drop a couple into a waste 55 gallon drum of DeathylMetylEthylDiFursureandall...

Yes, I've seen that happen, and nope, you if you're lucky you just get canned without having to pay for it...
Meh, of all I tried they are the best. I didn't feel a need to move up from them at all.Wurth wrenches are taiwan made, last thing that wurth sold and was rebranded facom was back in 2001 and it was a 1/4 drive ratchet. Wurth wrenches...i think of lobster claw and peeling chrome.
I can't remember who made them, maybe Ampco, but I had a kit of tools for tuning klystrons. Those had mind-bending prices.Guess you can't fish those out with a magnet lol. Makes me wonder what other crazy tools are out there that most guys never heard of
Toptul is taiwan as well, but wrenches and sockets are much better than wurth. Cant even compare the prices. For the past 10 years im using wurth wrenches at work and i hate that claw shaped open end.Meh, of all I tried they are the best. I didn't feel a need to move up from them at all.
Most everything I could buy in Mexico in those years was Taiwan made. So that came off the "no" list in my choices.
The fit on fasteners clinched the deal.
I can see firing someone, even if it is really just a warning to the remaining employees not to do the same thing… but I don’t see how they could make an employee pay for a lost tool. If I break or lose a tool, my employer cannot charge me for it.Welcome to my (former) world... No, I don't think so in this case. It is only $70.Money laundering
There are strange subset of people who somehow concluded that since eBay was originally an auction platform, that it is the best place to get deals. Thus it doesn't occur to them to look elsewhere. A lot of people do not know how large the internet actually is. I see it alot with instagram users. To be honest i would rather pay more on eBay than a site I've never used before purely so i don't have to make another account and because eBay is pretty buyer friendly with returns and protecting against scams. There are strange subset of people who somehow concluded that since eBay was originally an auction platform, that it is the best place to get deals. Otherwise - you get issued one (or draw one from the toolroom) and if it breaks or deforms or something you turn it in, and it gets replaced. If you DO drop one into a settling pit of ugh, or a barrel of Difursurandall, you fill out the paperwork and get it signed off. You don't work on them or try to fix them (Beryllium is in its own right a hazmat), there's (IIRC) only one place in Ohio that makes them, because the fumes and dust and filings and grindings are pretty dangerous...I can see firing someone, even if it is really just a warning to the remaining employees not to do the same thing… but I don’t see how they could make an employee pay for a lost tool. Not legally anyway but it happens and they'll sometimes get away with it.I can see firing someone, even if it is really just a warning to the remaining employees not to do the same thing… but I don’t see how they could make an employee pay for a lost tool.
