Multiple websites appear to be "official". Can anyone shed some light on what is what? I have emailed several of these sites and none have responded. I can't tell "Gray" market from domestic market. I haven't decided which is right for me, but I'd like to know which one I'm buying. I'm looking at the D1 PROS.

This is the cheapest I've seen it. When you add it to your cart is is $602

This site, it's $999. (sold out) Is this Domestic market vs International, or "Gray" market?

Thanks for any insight!

Can you just get it thru Amazon? That way if it comes and is unable to register or is sketchy gray market, you can just return it.

Why not buy Autel? It looks to be the exact same software. You can buy Autel from trusted legit vendors like AES Wave.

otofix updates are a little more cost effective than autel updates from what I can tell, which is probably because some models don't have all the features of some of the nicer Autels. If you want a mid-range tool it doesn't cost as much to keep it current. For the top end otofix, the Max, it's not really worth it vs an Autel. sweet spot seems to be the D1 or the D1 Pro depending on features. All depends on what you need I guess. I just want something that does bi-directional controls and allows me to replace some basic components that need to be learned and don't need to go into full blown ECM coding. Not going to pay $500+ yearly to keep that up to date. I know that they have servers and information to keep update and that costs money, but Autel's USA updates have gotten too high. I think otofix may be an attempt to correct some of that for a more price conscious market segment, which is where I fall. Others will absolutely need Autel and I get it.

as for Amazon, there's multiple listings for the same thing with different details. hard to know if the description is just wrong, or if you're getting an older model. For example the D1 ProS2 is supposed to have Android 11. there's an amazon one that literally says Android 10 in one spot and 11 in another. I'm also concerned about fakes. So if otofix has an authorized store I'd prefer to buy direct from them to know I'm getting what I'm expecting. Might come in handy at update time, but I'm not sure.

That https://www.trustpilot.com/ website may be the ticket. Thank you for that recommendation!
