Picked up two Rockwell heavy duty fastener driver drills, two Rockwell 100m routers and a Black and Decker 454 3 inch belt sander.
All were dropped off at the scrap metal bin at the transfer station.
The all work.

Got to love those old Porter Cable/Rockwell routers, along with the other tools. So what if they have a tail, they will outlast many battery tools.

I get some cool stuff from our recycle centers metal bin, also from the metal pile at the dump. In the last couple years I've gotten a nice little Yamaha inverter generator that just needed the carb gone through, 3 smokers that just needed cleaned up, a couple lawnmowers, a snow blower, a decent John Deer riding mower that mostly just needed everything put back together correctly, nice whole house fan, etc. When I got the riding mower the dump gave me a bunch of grief because my truck weighed more on the way out than it did on the way in, plus I almost ruptured my **** getting it in the truck.

I like to peek in the metals bin at our local transfer station, but unfortunately they are very strict about snagging anything for take-home. I suspect the workers there cherry pick all day every day, for things they can use or resell themselves. I don't blame them. I have grabbed a couple of cool things, including a Subaru 6.5hp Robin horizontal shaft engine that runs perfectly fine. Of course I've never used it for anything!

Cool stuff OP, gotta save what we can!

I had to pay the scrap guy at the yard $100 to take this anvil. I couldn't pay him fast enough. I kept it a short time and sold it for a ridiculous profit.
I bought a Peter Wright anvil some 25 years ago for 150 dollars,it was encrusted in rust.Apparently it was a yard ornament.
After cleaning up it look just like this one you posted.
I kept mine.

This had been used for years by my FIL until a handle rusted thin and broke off. Then it was stripped for the wheel and dumped in the treeline.

I pulled it out and fixed the frame, tightened up the bolts and cobbled up a wood wheel two years ago. Very recently I found a rusty rim in trash and had a tire in storage.
Cobbled that into a semi solid wheel and made it look right again.

Its back in use for very little money. The tire will rot off before it goes flat IMG_20260527_183418.jpg
