I'm seeing some decent reviews for this one. I own one of those pedals and they're kind of trash so would retrofit another (keep in mind this uses an on-board pot on the pedal to set high). I may pull trigger on another one but this is the lowest I've seen this one. There's multiple different sellers at that price point so not posting link.
Couldn't help myself so grabbed one of the pre-owned item ones. The stinger was missing so am following up w/seller. The quick-dinse connectors are kind of puny (12 mm maybe) but my 120 vevor MIG uses the same ones so used that to burn through a stick. Garage is a mess atm so just cobbled together a hose (one provided was too short 1/4" vinyl). Gas connection is also a barb fitting so that's kind of meh. For comparison, my even cheaper AC/DC TIG has larger Dinse (14 or 16mm) and a quick disconnect so I may end up swapping those over.
The reason I grabbed this one is the AC control in the other TIG is terrible, starting at 40A w/no ramp up. This one luckily is much better (went down as low as 10A but didn't work great breaking the oxide layer). The controls is similar to my cheapo one but this one has a panel control while the other is LCD so this one's a lot easier to setup/navigate.
The torch is a WP17, my other cheapo one came w/a WP22 w/a lot better build quality. I haven't retrofitted a pedal yet so ran some quick beads at low settings on some 1/16 ss & 1/8 aluminum.
Pros:
HF
AC/DC
cheap, small, light, build quality seems ok overall
Amperage down low appears good; more testing necessary
Cons:
Cut corners on dinse connectors, gas connector, torch, short ground & crappy clamp (gun is very long)
fan(s) on all the time and it's kind of loud....I may setup a thermal switch at some point.
Missing stinger , packing was not original and haphazard, 'more used than open box'.
