Not sure what time period your station is in but in the 60s and early 70s gas in the states gas was around 30 cents a US gallon. The cheapest I ever paid was 17.9 cents per gallon in the around 1970 on a trip to Detroit during a gas war. My friends and I would throw change into the ashtray of my car and by the end of the week I would use it to buy gas. We would drive to the station and tell them we needed whatever the amount of change was, 63 cents, 74 cents, and maybe if I was lucky a dollar are more.

This is our local garage. Pumps for diesel and unleaded with one for kerosene i assume in the corner with a hose for tyres on the fence to the right.Don’t forget the free standing pump and hose to fill your tyres.
Is kerosene used as a fuel for space heaters and lights?
Most garages don't have the kerosene pump, though some rural ones will have a red diesel pump (for agricultural use off road only).
