I was going through an old building that a friend of mine owns and is planning on demolishing. It was built in the 20s and his father used it to store everything you can image, mostly stuff he found at estate sales decades ago. Amongst the pile the Ford logo caught my eye. Apparently it’s an old reel they would’ve used to educate young drivers on seatbelt safety bc from what I read the early 80s was when they really ramped up wanting people to use them. This probably came from an old school house or something of that nature. I’d like to watch but I’m def not running down a projector but maybe I’ll come across it one day. The film smells of vinegar and I guess that’s what they do when the film chemicals are breaking down and a small portion looks damaged but I bet some of it would still play, maybe not but cool piece you don’t see everyday.

One of my most favorite things to do in JH was to get to run the movie projector.
And always the inevitable break and flap flap flap flap flaap.
Get out the tape, rethreadthe film , until yhe next flap flap flap flap flap.

Your local library may have a projector in storage, or maybe even a local school if they're old enough.

Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if a digital copy exists on the Internet somewhere, maybe YouTube or at archive.org .

There you go. :)
I have a 16mm film reel from the 1950s that's a travelogue produced by the old Northwest Orient Airlines, about travel from the US to Taiwan. I got it for a few dollars at a swap meet years ago. At the time I was able to borrow a projector from someone and watched it, but it's been sitting in a box in the closet ever since.

I remember a big push on getting folks to buckle up back in the early 80's at our Ford plant. We even had the guards at the vehicle gate doing surveys of seat belt usage. I probably saw this film back then
