I got this on amazon that was supposed to spray properly. It does spray w/o the extended hose but when I put on the hose w/ 4 holes on the perimeter of the nozzle is sprays strongly out of 1 and weak out of another. Two others it doesn't even spray out of so I have no idea if it's actually coating the inside of the frame I am coating. I have confirmed I have no obstruction in the nozzle anywhere. The fluid isn't very thick and is likely 70-75 degrees. I spray water through it and it does come out of all 4. After seeing this, I heated it up on my 3D printer bed to about 120F and it didn't really help even though it was relatively thin at this point. The volume out of the hose isn't great even when It's coming out so I have lost all confidence in this. I have played w/ pressure from 50psi up to 110psi w/o much change. What are you guys using to spray fluid film inside of a frame 360 degrees?F

Thanks much guys
Dave

Fluid Film thins out a whole lot when heated. I'd start there. The 3D printer bed isn't a bad idea. In the shop, I'll sometimes turn a lamp with an incandescent facing up and sit my part to be heated on the bulb.

I heated to 130F+ and it didn't help much. I purchased a fluid film sprayer, I have to assume it won't do this same thing. It was thin enough to spray but even at 110 PSI i think too thick even at 130F for enough velocity in that nozzle I got w/ this gun to atomize at all 4 nozzles.

Play with the amount you screw in one of the various type hose/nozzle into the gun. Iirc I'll only give it 2-3 revolutions and sinch up the knurled lock "ring".

I saw a video on this and this gun doesn't have an adjustable nozzle. When I pull the hose off and shoot right out of the nozzle there is good flow, pressure and velocity. It's when it is sent through the hose and the 4 360deg and one top hole.

I'm sure you verified which extended nozzle to use. The amazon site description shows 2 different nozzles for different spray patterns...

(Includes Two 22" Flexible Extension Wands: One multi-directional nozzle for hard-to-reach areas and hollow frames; one straight single-direction nozzle)

and the 360 nozzle sprays well from all nozzles for a full 360 degree spray pattern inside of a cavity?
Dave
Yes. My suggested solution seems to work and was an accidental discovery. My 1st sprayer was the cheaper of the 2 that FF offered. The 2nd was with the several different nozzles on different tubes and more expensive.
Both had given me troubles and I went though the heating routine and the various psi adventures. Very similar to your experiences. I'll be curious if my "cure" works for you, like I said I just bumped into that solution. I still keep my gallon can in the warm when it's wintertime.

I got this from amazon today and it works perfectly. $125 bucks but I don't have to deal w/ the frustration. I did heat it up though as even at 75F it wasn't flowing as well as I wanted it to.

I have one from Woolwax that has the same style adjustable gun (probably same exact part). It works great with Surface Shield! After reading all the reviews, that one looks like the one to get.
